Alright. I finally did it. I don't have a fucking clue why. I decided to buy an XBox from my coworker. Time to go get Ninja Gaiden and check out a few exclusives. I have everything else, so hopefully I'm not in for the big Microloss on this one. Any game suggestions? As in, not found on the other two big guns.

I'd get these three before Ninja Gaiden. For one thing, they can all be had for $30 each or less...

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Halo: Combat Evolved

Soul Calibur II

Of course, you can get KOTOR for the computer.

I wouldn't reccomend Halo for the computer because it's a memory whore.

Well I appreciate the suggestion. However...

KOTR I'm borrowing from a freind on the computer. Now, I did see it for like $25 at Wal Mart last night. But, I'm not even into it on the computer, so I'm unsure about that one.

Halo. I played it multi a few times at a friends house and totally loathed it. As far as the multi goes for me, I have Perfect Dark on the N64 and Quake III on the DC. However, I am interested in trying out that single player. This undoubtadly seems to be the pick that EVERY Xbox person mentions.

Soul Caliber II is definitely out of the question. I prefer 2D fighters to begin with. Not to mention, even though I LOVE Sould Caliber on the DC, I played it on the Gamecube, and that version had Link in it, so that would be the system I'd get it on. Heh. I have Marvel Capcom II on the DC, and I saw a version on XBox.

I think I'm going to possibly pick up a copy of Halo.

Has anyone played Munch's Odyssy by chance, and is it any good?

Sega GT2002/GT Online is decent if you want a Gran Turismo equivalent on X-Box.

Crimson Skies:High Road to Adventure is cool, and is different from the older PC game.

Mechassault isn't a proper Mechwarrior style game but is fun all the same.

Battlestar Galactica is meant to be good, its done by Warthog who also did Starlancer.

How can you not be into KOTOR? Wierd.

The XBox version is inferior, so yeah.

Unfortunately true, but I purchased the Xbox version because my computer would need an upgrade to play the PC version (which I ended up buying eventually, just because).

The Xbox version is playable, but nevertheless inferior. And I also don't understand why you wouldn't be into KOTOR, but no matter.

KOTOR can get a bit samey at times, especially midgame (Manaan - UGH!) and it wasn't until my second playthrough that I really got into it.
But that's just my take on it.

I was always interested in it, and thought it was a great idea. I started playing it and the spaceship part just wasn't exciting. I've gotten to the ground, and as far as buying the busted droid. Other then that, I haven't continued playing it. Though I'm not an RPG fan to begin with. I've only played like FF VII, Galaxies and KOTOR, and part of the FF on the NES. So, it's just not exciting right now. I'll get back to it soon though.

I loved SC on the Dreamcast, too. I have a PS2, GC, and an Xbox, but I got Soul Calibur II for the Xbox because a) I like the XBox controller the best, 2) Xbox has the best graphics, and d) Spawn pwns! :P

I love Link. It is a tough call on that, as the XBox controller is so much like the Dreamcast controller (for a very damn good reason).

I'm waiting for the new Zelda game to get my next Link fix. I'm also waiting for Metroid Prime 2 and Resident Evil 4.

There are too many good Nintendo exclusives to not own a GC, IMO... :)

Shit yeah. Rogue Squadron II, Wind Waker and Metroid Prime alone are enough reason to own the system. Through in thier other exclusives, some of the Sonic games they off, and the Gameboy Player, and it's a fucking must own for hardcore gamers. That's why I was so reluctant to get an XBox for so long. Just not a whole lot thier for me it seems. I love the controller and I'm down with the system itself, it just doesn't seem to have anything that stands out to me. Eh. Well, I'm going to the Blockbuster to see what thier is to rent and maybe I'll run into something.

Okay, think of it like this: The Xbox has the best controller and graphics which makes it best system for the multi-platform games.

I own the PS2 and GC only so I can play games made exclusively for them.

I, too, thought I was caving in by buying an XBOX. Turns out to be one of the best purchases I ever made.

Crimson Skies is great. If you like racing, you'll have to check out Rallisport Challenge 2; it's amazing. Full Spectrum Warrior is an awesome game, despite what you may have heard. A lot of people were disappointed by it because it isn't a FPS, but rather more like a squad-level RTS. It's pretty addicting. If there are any sports games you like, XBOX is the way to go because of its superior graphics. I recommend the ESPN series; in 2004 they beat the pants off of the EA series almost across the board (especially in hockey, which is all I really care about when it comes to sports).
And, of course, Fable is going to be awesome. If you liked the concept of KOTOR but weren't thrilled by the execution, give Fable a look.

Goddammit! Now I have to add another fucking game to my Amazon wish list... :(

James Bond 007:Everything or Nothing, Conflict:Desert Storm, Ghost Recon and Ghost Recon:Islander Thunder are all great games on the XBOX. I also have heard great things about Shadow Ops:Red Mercury

EDIT: Don't forget HALO 2 drops on November 9th!

Woohoo!!! Ya, Halo is one of the best game out there. Mmmm....Halo. Then theres a co-op demo coming out or something.

I'm thinking of buying a GC for WW and the new Zelda. They look great.

Alright, alright. Let's do a summary of my life real quick then we'll discuss the posts. Tredar as usual as seemingly come out of the boondocks with a plathora of information. Frankly with yalls info on Xbox games, this thread should be linked to every video game sight. We kick ass!!!

I went to EB first to get a second controller. I was going to buy a game but Tropen (if yall know him any) who works there told me to hold off on that. I was down to Halo or Jedi Academy. I was primarily looking for not only a multiplayer game, but a co-op game. We weren't sure of JA. So we went to Blockbuster. Well, they didn't have JA (so if anyone knows if it's co-op let me know, This is the XBox version btw), so I rented Halo. We ran some multiplayer, bleh. I have Q3 for the DC, more fast pace, and Perfect Dark for N64, more customizing. It was fun for a bit. However, we went in co-op. That kicked ass. So Halo gets my seal of approval. Funny thing is, before I had played Halo, when I was getting the controller my manager friend at EB talked me into putting 5 on Halo 2.

Now I've played Crimson Skies. Definitely got to hunt that down. My cousin has it, but he's hard to get ahold of sometimes. As for racing. There is no suggesting of racing games. It's Gran Turismo only. I have GT4 on preorder now. I just don't like how the other games play, and I'm not a huge rally fan. Sorry guys. Sports. That's all my brother there. However, no matter how superior I feel the DC style controller is, sports games just seem to fit on the PS2 controller for me.

Fable looks very damn interesting. That might be a shoe in soon. I'm in Galaxies and I'm waiting for Jump to Lightspeed to see if I drop it. So, if that doesn't pan out in the next month or two, looks like I'll be going the Fable route. Just a really interesting appeal to it.

James Bond, Goldeneye is the only one. Everything or Nothing, I hated. There was nothing I liked, except for the pause screen, cuz shannon elizabeth would come on screen. I would like to try some of those Ghost Recon games. My biggest question is, are they co-op

You would not believe how fucking hard it is to find out if a game is co-op. They'll tell you 2 player all damn day, but co-op. What's that?

Wind Waker, you guys can't go wrong with that. How good a game is it? I usually don't like exploring, but I found myself just sailing around to the different islands doing the side quests. Beautiful game. Wonderful. I don't care how sick of Zelda games you are, or how much you despise cel shading, sit on your fucking complaints and play this one. Even if it's the last Zelda game. Sweet!

Cal, Sega GT2002 and GT Online pretty much are Gran Turismo for the X-Box. Maybe not quite as good, but still worth checking out, and with GT2002 being not quite a brand new game it's worth checking out if you get it cheap. I got a pre-owned one from Gamestation for £8 (about $12). Unfortunately it doesn't have the Mitsubishi GTO in it, which is disappointing. :)

Do yourself a favour, play on Heroic.

Most of the criticisms people level at Halo's gameplay totally disappear when you jack the difficulty up, and the Covenant are suddenly more than a match for you... (there's still the whole problem with The Library, but that's another matter)

I'm wanting to beef up the difficulty. I'm seriously thinking of just going and buying a used copy somewhere. I love FPS like this. Nothing to odd, and the challenge comes from the point that I just have to have a sheer amount of skills that boggle the mind in order to come out on top.

I might check Sega GT out just to run some new tracks. Eh, so what it lacks the GTO, the only cars I run are american anyways. boo yah.

We rented Jedi Outcast (I have it on the comp, just wanted some co op) though it lacks co op. My biggest peeve which I have found on Halo, NFS Undercrap, and JK II is that the controls are not customizable. I know this has nothing to do with the system, but for crying out fucking loud, let me assign what i want where i want. This is almost the sole reason I don't have Quake III on the PS2. Talk about pissed. The easiest and best setup I have ever had goes like this.

L Trigger - Jump
R Trigger - Shoot
L Analog - Looks
ABXY - Movement (DC)
R Analog - Movement (X)

Controllers are identical except for that extra analog and the black/white buttons. So similar setup. This is my most kick ass setup. I can move and look, jump and shoot all at the same time.

Halo gets me that at least. JK II, fuck naw. Jump button stays on the four buttons and not to my trigger. What a bitch it is to use man. I rarely used the Alt Fire as it was. Maybe if you could have toggled it. JK II on my comp is one of the most bad ass games EVER. And that's saying a lot, especially for a PC game. But damn, it was aggrivating earlier. It severly sucks, because I found myself doing force jumps across bridges and platforms on the PC, which makes a HUGE difference.

Now we did some more multi player with my cousin, so we had three people. I'm guessing that CTF and the other game styles with four people is going to be pretty cool. What would be fun is to get two XBoxs together and have eight people at it.

Once again, does anyone know if Jedi Academy on the XBox is co-op?
