Any tips? I used the uninstall utility; then got the stuff in registry under local machine. Did I miss something?

Well, that's stupid. Guess I'll have to grab the NoCD crack for FarCry, too (just bought it today when I discovered Doom3 wasn't available near me).DaveJB wrote:I'm guessing that Doom III uses the same Copy-Protection as Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and FarCry. To get either of those two to work, you need to completely uninstall any CD emulation program (including Daemon Tools, CloneCD and a few others).
Any clue where I could find the locations of all the registries, dlls and other odd files it leaves behind after the uninstaller is finished?DaveJB wrote:I'm guessing that Doom III uses the same Copy-Protection as Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and FarCry. Did you uninstall and the game still wouldn't run? Or are you just wanting to be cautious?InnocentBystander wrote:Any clue where I could find the locations of all the registries, dlls and other odd files it leaves behind after the uninstaller is finished?DaveJB wrote:I'm guessing that Doom III uses the same Copy-Protection as Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and FarCry. By the way; where did you get the no-cd exe from?

I got the no-CD when I, er, 'previewed' the game over the weekend.
Use the uninstall utility, then reinstall and rename the drivers at the prompt in the installer.InnocentBystander wrote:Any tips? I used the uninstall utility; then got the stuff in registry under local machine. Did I miss something?
