I've got two new IE taskbars that somehow installed themselves into my browser. How do I get rid of them? The google bar I don't mind so much, but i don't even know what the fuck SLOTCH.com is!

Install and run Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, and Spyware Blaster. Make sure you do the updates before running a scan, though. That more than likely will take care of it, and protect you from future spyware shit.

I have all those, and run them 2-3 times a week. But the taskbad itself won't go away.

it might be buried in your registry. open up regedit.exe, and do a search for slotch.com. delete all the keys you see with that address. be sure to backup your registry to a floppy or some type of media that isn't apart of the computer itself before doing so.

In that case, try CWShredder and HijackThis. I've never used either, but a quick google search on your Slotch.com problem gave those two programs as solutions. Hopefully, they'll fix the problem.

Get HijackThis and I'll read your log. I think we need a few more Fortune Tellers and Palm Readers here for these HT logs...

I got CC Cleaner from the HT website and that did the trick. I don't think I really need to kick it up a notch just yet.

Thanks for all the help!

Good thing you got it fixed. I *hate* spyware. I let my sister use the computer for a day yesterday, and bam, Yahoo toolbar.
