It's referenced on Slashdot and Ars quite a bit.

SD.net barely ever mentions goatse compared to most boards and niches in the internet. Some places won't shut the hell up about it like it were the best thing since sliced bread. It even showed up on Star Wars Galaxies' official board when it evidently got hacked one evening.

Anywho, I'll have to admit that Durandal's contributions for the list have some of the funnier ideas and better acronyms.
