How long have you played a video game before stopping?

Post by Asst. Asst. Lt. Cmdr. Smi »

The longest time I've spent playing one video game before stopping would be about 8 hours, when I was staying up all night playing SimCity 3000 a couple years ago, and again with RollerCoaster Tycoon a few weeks bit after that.

12 hours. I played Freelancer online from morning to 10 PM on the last eid-ul-fitr. Of course my family members were cursing me for not taking part in the festivities. I myself regret wasting such a great day which comes only once a year.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

7 hours of EU2 when I first got it. I've played Dominions 2 and Alpha Centauri longer, but those were hotseat games so it wasn't really continuous.

Twelve straight hours of coop Halo. It's fun being in a Warthog machine gun turret while careening through the Pillar of Autumn through masses of the Flood with the reactor about to go critical. :D

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Space Empires 4. I lost track of time, all I knew is that it was light outside, then dark, I remembered I was feeling a little tired and was trying to figure out why the light wouldn't go off, it was light outside again.

Hmmm, I played through the original Gabriel Knight in one sitting, about 14 hours or so my freshman year of college. Only got up for bathroom and caffeine breaks. In my defense that game was . . . intense and had a VERY addicting story.

Ahhh, to be so young and foolish.

. . .

Dammit, where did I put those disks anyways?

How the hell did you people manage to do that???

I can't play a game for more than 5 hours at a time. By then, I'm usually wanting to do somehting else.

I cannot honestly guess. From the time I was a kid till now. I guessed 12-18 hours, because there were some games I just played all day long, because as some of you will remember there were no saves, so you had to beat the game in one sitting. I have not pulled an all nighter in a loooooong time, and even then I didnt play during that time. This would range from anything from the Mega Man games to Sonic.

I played Command & Conquer Red Alert: Retalliation for the original Playstation for some 12+ hours in a match against my friend (two TVs connected) on the best map of all time #36. All gems baby. Of course, both Soviets. Eventually, the combined might of my Mammoth Tanks + V2 Rocket Launchers + Attack Subs overwhelmed his army and defences, and the day was mine.

Truly, my finest hour.

I had to have an EEG scan done, which requires that you fall asleep for them to do the tests.

So the doctor told me I had to stay up all night.

Which I did. With my games :)

One weekend, my mom and dad went out of town and I played Halo for the better part of two days. I slept like two hours total. But I went 24 hours before my first hour of sleep. Hardest settings a bitch when you first play that game.

36 (Yup 36!) straight hours of Final Fantasy Tactics. I managed to gain a grand total of well over 600 levels and beat 3/4 of the game. I did forget to buy Angel Bracelets for the Celia and Lude fight, but I blame that on the 38 hours of play previous.
