If you havn't heard of the game, its a game that puts you in control of a James bond villan style base, controlling henchmen and overtaking the world, its extreamly funny.
Demo is here
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/evi ... loads.html
Again, PM me for details on fast download, i'll be adding mirrors soon.

Last week I felt like playing good old Dungeon Keeper but didnt had the time yet.
But i'd better wait untill this comes out
Is it from the same makers as Dungeon Keeper or a ripoff? (which i would still enjoy offcourse)

Not the same makers, they say they learned from DK, but the concept was their own, I think from previews its suffciently differant.

I hope you can also slap your minions. I really really liked that in DK

You can have them interrogated and executed.
I love this game.

He he he he.
out of my army of 50, 30 were mercinaries.
When el'james bond clone shows up, i was allready at red alert, and most of them were at the entrace.
I will never forget the sight of a three-man deep line of mercs filling the entrance and shooting at him, he went down without killing one worker.
Best of all, i got to blend him with the kitchen.

The thing is they don't even let you construct traps, thats half the draw right there and they yanked it from the demo

You know, having the base on constant red alert is a bad thing... Simply not enough style for an Evil Genius like yourself. Plus in the full game the constant killing of agents will draw even more agents in instead of the relativly harmless ones we have in the demo.
Might I recommend a more subtle approach?
Try to keep the sensitive things (Armory and Shooting Range) at the "back" of the base and try to keep guards posed there. I made a level 4 door into my not suspicious rooms to keep the agents interested in the door. Of course, once they broke though they'd get an immediate Capture Tag since the door was guarded.
Leave a wall space open at each side to make room. Even the Henchmen will stand guard at times... Which can lead to a nasty surprise for the enemies...
Also, don't underestimate the Valets. By weakening the enemies enough (eg. their awareness becomes single digit) any minion, even an unarmed worker, can walk up and arrest them. They'll come willingly.
To the minion abusers, you do know that the Evil Genius can execute any minion to "inspire the workforce", right? Just select Max and right click a minion. This will increse the loyalty levels of other minions.
Here's how to make the door guarded, in pictures!

Every single fucking time I've tried DLing the demo, it's been corrupt.

Hey, how do you use that big, shiny industrial-strenght mixer to get rid of bodies?
I haven't been able to figure it out...

I think the demo should've had traps in it; I didn't like having to order my minions to red alert every time some tool from P.A.T.R.I.O.T, A.N.V.I.L. etc decided to prance around my base.
I also don't like that your base is seperate from your helipad, this means that those asshole agents can intercept your helpless worker minions while they're out buying dynamite etc.

This, and the ability to set the door as guarded without restricting acces to your evil genius only.
Something like "Guarded, and only your henchmen and you can pass" would've worked better.

I knew I forgot something...
Anyway the doors can be security levels 1 to 4. Right click a door to change that.
1 is let everyone pass.
2 is only your organisation members may pass. No agents allowed. This is the default door.
3 is Evil Genius only. Not even your henchmen may pass.
4 is like 3, only with guards to make really sure that no one but your evil self passes. If they try, they get tagged for capture.
These doors are intersting to agents in highest security first. So a level 4 door will be much more interesting than a level 2. Now if you use a level 4 door, with a level 2 bypass, to let your minions pass, to a boring room such as the barracks or a traning room with no Shooting Range. The agents will think the big secret is in there and try to break in. Of course they'll not find anything incriminating, but they will get a free pass to a jail cell instead and from there to the kitchen.

I've liked the demo so far. I'll probably like the full version even better. I think it'd be a whole lot better to manage the "heat" of your base than the swarms of soldiers that are in the demo.
And I think I executed at least 50 of my minions so far. This is way better than slapping in my opinion.

Hmm, 200 MB...
I'd download it now, except I just got two new mods to try out for HL... Maybe later, when I get my monitor back and resume my regular gaming schedule. It certainly looks interesting.

Does the capture and interrogate Jet Chan objective ever actually complete? I lost count of how many times I ran him through the blender, but nothing happened whatsoever.

Don't try to interrogate him. Gloat over him instead. Just select your Evil Genius and right click on the cell with Chan. Do notice the "HA! HA!" cursor that appears. Watch as Max proceeds to point and laugh.

What the hell kind of megalomaniacal criminal mastermind are you? You don't
kill the secret agent, you
gloat and give away your secret plan for world domination so he can later escape and foil your plans.

The game amuses me, but I would have liked that agent attacks had been more like Dungeon Keeper - having squads of agents attack once in a while, not having them swarming over the island looking for a place to sunbathe and annoying the hell out of me 100% of the time.

So if you'd rather they found their way in faster, build a non-hidden door to the outside so they can find it quicker.
