Currently at one of my local computer stores, the equivelently rated AthlonXP processors are more expensive than the Athlon64's is this type of thing normal?
AMD AthlonXP 3000+ $289.00 AUS
AMD Athlon64 3000+ $249.00 AUS
AMD AthlonXP 3200+ $349.00 AUS
AMD Athlon64 3200+ $329.00 AUS

No, not really, though I believe the rating system is skewed so an AXP and a Sempron with same PR ratings will have the AXP perform better. A socket 754 Sempron based on the A64 is superior to the AXP.Ace Pace wrote:The 64's could be based on the old Socket, and companies should be trying to clear stock with those. While XP's are still better then their new compainion the Sempron.
