Is this normal? Athlon64s cheaper than AthlonXPs

Currently at one of my local computer stores, the equivelently rated AthlonXP processors are more expensive than the Athlon64's is this type of thing normal?

AMD AthlonXP 3000+ $289.00 AUS
AMD Athlon64 3000+ $249.00 AUS
AMD AthlonXP 3200+ $349.00 AUS
AMD Athlon64 3200+ $329.00 AUS

The 64's could be based on the old Socket, and companies should be trying to clear stock with those. While XP's are still better then their new compainion the Sempron.

No, not really, though I believe the rating system is skewed so an AXP and a Sempron with same PR ratings will have the AXP perform better. A socket 754 Sempron based on the A64 is superior to the AXP.

Those are probably the new low-end AMD64-cored Athlon XPs. Supply is tight for them at the moment, and we all know supply-demand laws, I hope.
