worst possible game to make movie of?
I read a few days ago that somebody is make a Doom movie. So I've what would be worst possible game to make movie of it? (The game itself don't have to be bad.)
EDIT:only games that can be made into movies, so no tetris or other that kind of games.
EDIT2:could you tell why the would suck as a movie. I don't know every game ever made in this world.

Star Fox would be a pretty cool kid/sci-fi movie, I think.

Think that "Master of Orion" series would make quite bad movie.

For some reason, the first game to hit my mind was Balloon Fight for the NES. There, you control a balloon and try to pop other player's balloons to make them plummet to the ground, with numerous computer-controlled hazards in the way for both. Creating a plot to fit that scenario would certainly be difficult (deathmatch tournament? Steampunk war setting?), and would most likely suck. As for other games...
Ikari Warriors 2 had a notoriously bad plot, even for an NES game. It's said you can't polish a turd, and I think a movie based on this would support this.
Xenogears for the PSX had a deep, extremely convoluted plot spanning over 50-60 hours of gameplay. Even then, the plot was rushed on the second disc, and any movie would only worsen this effect via compression into a 2 hour movie.
On the other hand, I think that Zero Wing might actually work as a movie. The general plot ("our bases are captured by an evil cyborg race due to traitors in the human ranks, and it's up to one heroic pilot to save the day") sounds like good summer popcorn movie fodder, and all you'd have to add are a romantic interest, bigger explosions, and a dramatic confrontation with the traitors' ringleader in hand-to-hand combat after shooting down CATS in the last dogfight. It'd be kind of like "Wing Commander" meets "The Last Starfighter," hopefully without the former's suckiness in movie form.

I disagree. The game is essentially a pie slice of the galaxy worth of exploration, expansion, and warfare. If that isn't enough to make into a movie, you've frankly got problems.Lord Revan wrote:Think that "Master of Orion" series would make quite bad movie.
The good thing about it is there aren't any characters nor any real established plot - in Moo and Moo2 you are the master of the plot (the less said about Moo3 the better). This leads to the favourable position of essentially being free to write any plot you want for the Moo movie (heh).

the prolem is that they'll probaly use MOO3 with brain dead plot and stupid looking races (mrrshan look like crossbreed between sabertooth cat and kangoroo).Stofsk wrote:I disagree. EDIT:I like Master of Orion. the way you can make your own story. I have idea for fanfic in that universe with some modfications (human have split into two groups before the colonization phase (the other group stole the first FTL colony ship).

To truly realize the awfulness of what it could be, try to add a plot. WHY must Pac Man eat all those spheres? WHY must those four colored dudes try to get him? And then add... the ROMANTIC SUB PLOT with Ms. Pac Man!

Actually, there was a Pac Man TV series in the 80's that dealt with all of those issues.Mayabird wrote:Pac Man
