Metal Gear is begging for movie-dom. as is silent hill, provided SH were directed by somebody of, say, Clive Barker's caliber.

yeah. . . .it'd require a superb director, a superb script and a big budget. it'd be really tough to pull off, but could be excellent if someone did.

Freespace 1 and 2, I don't care how, but I'd pay lots to see it.

David Mamet. No question at all, he'd make a rocking movie out of this material.

Hmmm....

Homeworld, Morrowind, Diablo, Warcraft, Oregon Trail  , and maybe, if you could get the right director, Myst.

Are we talking about a perfect world senerio where the movie would be done great? Or that should be made into a movie because it would easily make the transition?

Perfect World:
Metroid(heres hoping)
Resident Evil(2 and to a lesser extent one are not RE)
Halflife
Megaman(completely impossible to ever be done the way I want)

Real world:

I've always thought that Alpha Centauri would have made a great TV series. I could imagine a five season arc, some factions would be destroyed as the series pregressed and the series finale would end with Planet waking up and the people transcending. Would have been awesome.

I thought that there were already a couple of Metal Gear movies. They just released them on some sort of special format that would only work in game consoles.

I could see the original Homeworld making a great /pair/ of movies. You'd have to do two, to avoid rushing it and having it either skip a load or be nothing but action sequences. Like has been said, in a /perfect/ world...

Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

Last I checked there was no "Master Chief" in Metal Gear. :P

Seriously, Spartan is a perfect example of why Mament would do a bang up job with Metal Gear. Not only would Mamet-speak be perfect for a Metal Gear movie, but the concepts that are at the core of Metal Gear (espionage, political intrigue, lone hero character, conspiracy) are Mamet's bread and butter.

Monster Hunter could provide a bang-up setting for some serious Special Effects and kicks ass sequences. Maybe center it on a group of Hunters trying to stop a wyvern from terrorizing a village or some such (or if the budget's high enough and the right SFX company is picked one of the actual dragons like Lao-Shan Lung)
