Bit torrent client recommendetion

Post by Sarevok »

What is a good bit torrent client ?

I am specificaly looking for two capabilities.

1. The ability to select an individual file from a torrent.

2. Resume downloads.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

1. due to the way bittorrent works, you can't select individual files from torrents until the entire torrent is finished downloading.

2. most all bittorrent clients have the resume feature to my knowledge.

Looks like you're getting Azureus. It's the only one I know of that allows you to do what you want. If only it didn't use java it would've been a lot better though.

In BitTornado is a bit more annoying, but you CAN open the "details" screen, right-click on a file you don't want and select "never download".

Are you using a router? If so, you'll have to forward the ports BT uses to your computer (I can't recall which ports atm)

I believe Azureus supports UPnP, so if you have that enabled on both your client and router, it should work.

Even with the NAT problem, you should be downloading... Just very slowly.
