PhP BB Questions

so, i've set up my own forum on an emulation website i'm working on, and had a couple of questions. It's a free php forum, so i was wondering if there was any way of getting other themes than what's listed as default available to install. Not quite sure what i want to put in there yet, but if i come across other themes that look nifty i might want to add them. So, do any php webmasters out there have links to places with skins i could use?
Or is this even possible using the free php boards?

http://www.phpbb.com/ - Official site; themes, rank images, patches.
http://www.phpbbhacks.com/ - Tons of hacks, images, and themes for all versions.

coolness. though, few new questions for the more advanced phpbb users. how in the hell do i set the thing to allow mods to admit users to private usergroups? ie - on here moderators have the ability to add users to a group when they don't necessarily sign up. i'm still having difficulties figuring out how in the hell the usergroup list up top relates to private groups, and am not entirely sure what to do with that. any help here?

Only admins and group moderators can add or remove people from groups. Usergroups come in three flavors - Open, Closed, and Hidden. Open groups are publicly visable and any forum member can request to join, pending approval from the group moderator. Closed groups do not accept requests, users can only be manually added. Hidden groups are like closed, but do not show up non-members.
e.g.,
The BotM is an Open usergroup (I think)
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are a Closed group.
And the Ubiqtorate is a Hidden group.
EDIT: Nevermind, the Ubiq is in the usergroup list; it's just Closed.

okay . . .so, that part i get, more or less. The thing that's confusing me however is how exactly i set it so that the group moderators themselves can add new members without having access to the admin control panel. Should've worded my post better.

From the ACP, go to Usergroup Management. Find the username of the member you want to be group moderator and just stick it in the relevant field. That's it.

Just a suggestion:
Get the Users List mod. It will make your life as an admin ALOT easier when it comes to managing users. Instead of sifting through four or five control panels, its all there in one. (its on phpbb.com)

You mean there's a different way of doing it?
Here all I do is bring up the Usergroup on the CP page, and at the bottom it gives me a little text field to put in names.

You're in some weird funky shit there.
Just go to the regular usergroups button and see what it has when you click on one.

The board no longer exists.
That was just a screenshot I took over a year ago trying to convince an admin to add that mod.

after looking through the screenshot, i think that'll be the next thing i put up on there. looks like it'd make things far easier.

Its very easy to install. It just requires some minor text edits if memory serves.

erm. okay, i downloaded the mods and such, but after browsing through the admin panel i can't seem to find any place i go to to actually upload the mods. i'm using a free phpbb system, so i'm not actually sure whether or not i can upload them in there. so, er, any help'd be appreciated. again.
