I think my Arial.tif (or whatever that extension was) file got deleted or something, so stuff that's supposed to be Arial come out either italicized or bold. Weird.

So how do I get the font back?

Download it and stick it in the Fonts folder.

Yes, it got deleted or moved. I accidentally moved the font rather than copied it when I put it on my desktop to easily get to it when uploading it to Homestead, and when I was checking a few pages qhile it was uploading, I had the same symptoms as you did.

Here you go.

Download it and, rather than what Sharp-kun said (because some programs don't properly detect the font if you install it that way), open your Fonts folder. There should be a shortcut in the Control Panel, but if not it's C:\Windows\Fonts. Once it's open, open the File menu and click "Install New Font." Please note that, since Microsoft are a bunch of lazy bitches, the file browser still uses an archaic Windows 3.1 interface. Assuming you saved it in your My Documents folder, which is the default download folder, go to C:\Documents and Settings\your username\My Documents. After a few seconds, Arial (Truetype) will appear in the list of fonts. Select it, then click OK. Arial should show up in the Fonts folder now, and everything Arial should show up properly now.

NOTE: The preceding instructions are for Windows XP. As the font is the Windows XP version, I'm not entirely certain whether or not it will work correctly in older versions of Windows, if at all. Just let me know if you have a different Windows version.

Its the same way in 98. However, you can just copy and paste it into the fonts directory and it'll auto-install.
