Call of Duty - United Offensive
Just got this the other day and despite it has only roughly four hours of play per campain(Almost beat the Brit, Beat the America) and that Panzerfausts are even more random than the first game it is tons of fun
The first time you play it anyway, don't know about the second as the game is even more scripted(In a good way) then the first
Not sure if its worth the $30 but its a buy if you have the first one

A follow up since I beat the entire game(Yep its short)
The Russian Street Missions... Are a cast iron bitch, I'm a veteran FPS player and never reloaded once during the first game while playing
Meanwhile in this expasion during the Russian City missions I've had to reload half a dozen times in half an hour, the last Russian mission I must have reloaded about thirty times before I figured out the trick

Exactly it means I can go throughout the entire level without dieing onceDarth Garden Gnome wrote:I suspect he's referring to reloading his saved game.Losonti Tokash wrote:One question, though: how does the fact that you don't reload often indicate skill at a FPS?
As anyone who has played Medal of Honor's Famous Snipertown level(The one in which you sneak through a destroyed town to escourt enginers to steal a tank) can atest to, its a feat to play through that one the first time without dieing a couple of times

Argh, that section was a bitch. Though getting to play with the tank afterward made up for a lot of it.Mr Bean wrote: Exactly it means I can go throughout the entire level without dieing once

Is the game harder than the original? Because the original CoD, at least on Hardened, was really fucking hard. "Veteran" was damn impossible.

If you're playing on hardened, make sure the save key is easily accecaple.HemlockGrey wrote:Is the game harder than the original? Because the original CoD, at least on Hardened, was really fucking hard. "Veteran" was damn impossible.
UO is best in multiplayer. A game of base assault on Foy is awsome if you've got 32 skilled players. Of course, if your team sucks you're fucked. Artillery and satchel charges can get you to first place very quickly if you're skilled. The short ammunition is bad though, 40 rounds extra for semi-auto rifles (less for bolt action) and the maps are so big don't expect to pick up your buddies rounds. More then one time I've been going into battle wielding a pistol.

Really? In vanilla CoD most people seem to die before running out of ammo. The short ammunition is bad though, 40 rounds extra for semi-auto rifles (less for bolt action) and the maps are so big don't expect to pick up your buddies rounds. Seems in UO at least the three matchs I've played, folks have rediscovered the idea of "supression fire" and use it with wild abondenHemlockGrey wrote:Really? I found that the most irritating mission was the battle in the square in front of the railway station where you had to "protect" someone.
All the protect missions had me quickloading constantly as my charge would always blunder out into MG42 fire lanes without a moments thought. In the end I found that throwing myself infront of fire was about the only way to get through it.

Yes despite how the game "tricks" you and privdes you with a shinny loaded scouped rifle to play with the only way to get through that I found is charging forward with the mg's and playing "decoy"weemadando wrote:I found that the most irritating mission was the battle in the square in front of the railway station where you had to "protect" someone.

The problem with CoH's AI is that it much always prefers to shoot you then shoot the other AI
