Browser colors- aging eyes
Old age, and the inevitable need for reading glasses is coming on.
Question. What are some better background/text color schemes that are easier on my eyes?
White background and black text are becoming more and more difficult to read, and I am making some embarassing errors when my mind fills in the "blind spots."

I knew there was a reason I had that as my AIM font.TrailerParkJawa wrote:I've always found black background with green text easy to read.

Studies have shown that a light background coupled with dark text is actually the easiest to read. However, that applies best to passively-lit devices (like paper) rather than actively-lit devices where light areas far higher in intensity than dark areas.
Consider upping the text size on your browser and see if that helps.

I actually prefer the default Netscape gray background for black text.

I always found a moderate contrast between foreground and background text helps when lighting is involved (ie black on grey, white on blue, etc) and a medium color on black (ie green or red) works best when it's dark. General rule: the darker the room is, the darker your color scheme should be.
An Erisian Hymn:
Onward Christian Soldiers, / Onward Buddhist Priests.
Onward, Fruits of Islam, / Fight 'till you're deceased.
Fight your little battles, / Join in thickest fray;
For the Greater Glory / of Dis-cord-i-a!
Yah, yah, yah, / Yah-yah-yah-yah plfffffffft!
