Allright, it's finally time...GTA SA is upon us!!!

My local gaming store call me about my pre-order, telling me that it will be avaliable after 6 PM tonight. It's supposed to come out 2morrow right? Guess they cheated...oh well! lol I'm off to get it right now...

Let's go ahead and call this the official GTA:SA thread, where you can talk about things you like/dislike, cheats, help with missions, secret easter eggs....everything.

Allright I'm out...going to get my copy now :)

Here here... let's see some GTA with decent resolutions on the PC.

I'll probably get it sometime between November and my birthday. The graphics for the PS2 version that I have seen don't seem too impressive, but I'm probably not going to bother with waiting for it to come out on the PC.

It has some very cool features, but a full analysis is going to have to wait until the game has been explored more.

The fact that you can curbstomp the guy in the boxing ring is priceless though. :D

What's the story on the evil, deadly water this time around?

From what I've seen, you can actually swim now. It apparently involves button mashing, but you no longer spontaneously drown. So I hear.

I loved how I could drive right into the edge of the water in GTA3 and GTAVC and die while trying to drive out.

The worst is that it took them three games to figure it out...

You ever stop and think that maybe they incorporated the Insta-drown on purpose? Kinda hard to keep people in one part of the world map if they can simply circumvent the barriers...

Well, obviously you build in a limit to how long someone can swim, like ten to fifteen seconds or so, so that they have enough time to get back to shore but not able to swim all over the map.

Why they didn't do that for III or VC I'll never know.

Did anyone else think GTA III would've been way cooler if your main character had a name and dialog, like Tommy Vercetti? I mean, fuck, RAY LIOTTA! HELLO!

Who plays CJ in San Andreas?

When your action/adventure shooting/driving game has a *deadlier* water system than N64's Body Harvest, something went wrong on the design board. :P

The added VC ability to jump out of vehicles helped a little bit, and they seemed to let you hop back onto a dock if you stepped off accidentaly, but actually being able to dog-paddle for a 100 feet to the nearest shoreline would have nearly eliminated such annoyingly severe problems. Hell, you could get a quarter of your life sapped just by standing to far on the beach...

I always liked the hover cheat in GTA: VC where any vehicle going on the water converted its wheels to resemble the flyingt DeLorean in BttF. It meant you didn't drown at least in the car, but try driving something unstable like a golf cart and it was real fun.

Course, I can see why they had the drown feature in; a button mashing function would've been a good limiter earlier on.

I was hoping they'd get Jamie Foxx to be the main character.

That was cool. Amphibious assaults with a hover tank were just plain awesome.

Yeah, the GTA3 guy was pretty lame sounding. The closest thing I guess you could get to having Vercetti's voice in GTA3 would be that mod that let's you use the PC version of Vice City to play through Liberty City. No missions though...

I always thought Liotta's voice in VC was very similar to Mike Sorvino's voice in Mafia.
