Internet Browsers

I'm concidering as part of my webpage to have a small page in regards to the various Internet Browsers out there. Basically I want to be able to give like a small paragraph summing up the abilities and weaknesses of the browsers in order for people to get some better idea of then just going with IE (like what I wanted when I had to reformat my harddrive to remove all the spyware IE let in). Then I want to help by giving a link to where the person can get it.
So what I need from you guys are a few things. Mainly I need just some links/names of browsers which are in use (windows, linux, mac don't matter, but mainly windows). I can do my own testing/etc on the free browsers that work with linux or windows. If you want to help along and give some advantages/disadvantages then feel free to do so, but please no useless spamming (IE is evil!!!!) unless you plan on explaining why. I already know alot about Mozilla, Firefox and IE, so if you have any other browsers which come to mind please post here.

Okay, Mozilla and Mozilla FireFox are available for Windows, Linux, and Mac.
Camino is a Mac-only browser from the Mozilla group- very nice browser, seems to run faster than Safari or FireFox on my older G3 PowerBook with OS X.
OmniWeb is another Mac OS X only browser. It's supposed to be one of the fastest/best browsers on the web, but you have to pay for it. 30-day trial available free.
Netscape is available on Windows and Mac (not sure on Linux). To me, the Windows version feels bloated. The Mac version feels more lean though.

Konqueror: Linux only browser, integrated into KDE. Pretty fast. Low popularity means limited support on the net.
Epiphany: Browser based of gecko (mozilla) rendering engine. Gnome desktop default browser. I'm pretty sure it's linux only though someone may have gotten it to work on windows.
Lynx: The grandaddy of them all, text based glory. Very limited support for modern content.
Elinks: Another text based browser, much better than lynx.

I've head good things about MyIE2 for fixing problems to IE.
However, I would never, ever call IE second best
Maybe second worst...
Ah, also check out Opera by the way. And that one that Shadow liked, what was it...the one that was less than a megabyte?
Oh and I forgot to list Safari as a Mac browser.

Perhaps you'd like to
prove that IE is the best against the mountain of evidence to the contrary...

Actual No, not even Firefox.

I don't have to prove anything here. I stated MO. Like I said I have yet to see a better browser.

So, does the metric ton of spyware you recieve add to your browsing experience?
Actual No, not even Firefox.
Did you try tabbed browsing?
Have a very nice day.

You can just state the reasons why you always go back to IE...

Yeah with MyIE2 it has tab browsing.
Also Advant
Though alt-tab would work just as well for IE.

Please no argueing over which browsers are the best. I'm just trying to get a feel for many browsers which are not popular or main stream (so far in the media only Firefox and IE seem to be broadcasted). If you guys want to argue over which browser is best, make a new thread please.

Opera, and check in G&C for Shadow's IE based browser, very fast rendering times.

You are aware that MyIE2 uses mshtml.dll and has the exact same vulnerabilities/issues as IE, right?
That being said, I've been using Mozilla since 0.9.6 and have no plans of changing. I do keep FireFox 0.9.3 handy when I want to browse forums that I don't feel like logging into. I also use it as my pr0n browser.

Okay, I understand you like Avant and MyIE2. I won't argue on that. All the features of FireFox plus the ability to view IE only sites, minus the security of FireFox. It's a tradeoff.
My question, though, is why, in your original post, you said:
"1st best to right there next to IE "
You say that MyIE2 is 1st best "next to IE". Okay, I can understand liking MyIE2 or Avant, but saying IE is the next best? How can anyone think that? Just wondering why you think so.

I doubt that. In my experience FireFox yet to crash or fail so far. IE on the other hand crashed or failed numerous times. FireFox is a very good browser, much better than IE.
However if you are looking for the best browser in the world look
here

No I don't get much malware anyways. And I don't worry to much about it cause I have setup Ad-aware and Spybot to run at night time one at 12:00 the other 10 minutes later, also defrag runs every month to.

Do you have any real time protection though? something like Ad-awares paid stuff, or ZA's blocker?

Yeah my HW router firewall and free AntiVir. I was thinking of putting up a linux FW and letting my router just be a router.
Why?

what type of system are you running? firefox tends to be a little sluggish on anything more than a few years old. though Opera i've found runs nicely on most systems, even older ones without much trouble.
