On the back of the SA box it says "1 or 2 players". 2 player GTA? What's the deal with this?

Several missions have an option for a split screen, team rampages.
However both of you have to stay on the same screen.

I get the impression that a couple of rampages require two players. I ran across one in the Commerce area.

See my post, also, from what I get, there are also some car missions (not story missions though) that allow for 2 players, maybe one shoots?

Can you do the missions with just one player?

Not the one I found in Commerce, it seemed to specifically require a second player (I got a message that to activate the rampage, it require input from the second controller).

Apparently, it's beyond awesome (according to a friend who has it). So there you have it from a totally unbiased and accurate source.

I've found a two player and a two player rampage, does it clone CJ or something?

Man but i'm just loving Gang Wars!
Part of my turf got invaded so i turned to my homiz and was like "yo nigga, let's go cap some fools" and they were all "Bro i be down wit dat!". So we ran along and hopped over a wall into the next territory which was under attack by some crack'ass fools. I got to the corner of a building, peaked round and they spotted me and started running towards me, so i pulled out my nine, rolled round the corner and capped one in the head, and then put 4 in the next guy before they'd even begun to react. The next guy had a shotgun and he was bringing it to bear just as i was aiming at his sorry ass, but my homies beat me too it and put 'im six feet deep! The next few guys were running up now but i'd had time to draw out my MP5 (weapon of choice nigga!) and put 'em down faster than Big Sleep eating a bucket o' chicken yo!
Man but this shit rocks! That's how good it is. It's got me speaking "Gangsta."

Nope. The second player can pick a form: prostitute, cop, preacher, or gangster.

Should in get a mod to turn this into the "no spoilers" GTA:SA thread?

So you can't just do random drive-by's with two players, you have to do certain missions? Darn, that's why I couldn't play it last night at my friends place.

Actually its the reverse; you can do random anything, but thats it. There are 2p rampages, but you can't go 2p then do a regular mission (for sensible practical reasons). You also can't both get into different vehicles (which is a damn, damn shame; no racing). I recommend 2p for powering up your motorbike skill; driving into oncoming traffic pulling wheelies while your mate shoots out tyres really boosts your skill nice'n quick.

I heard there were two player things, like one drives while the other shoots. I wish I knew, but someone stole my PS2, so I can't play San Andreas...

Yes, the 2p can be used for driver/shooter combos. It just can't be used to do any of the actual missions. Sedans with a second player and 2 homeboys spraying cops with gunfire is so much fun...
