Just converted to firefox
And I must say that the experience has been delightfull, a quick download, easy and quick install and it has very quick load times, uses informations better I guess.
Why I did not do this before now, I dont know, but I suspect it was apathy. And I expect that is why Microsoft has such a hold, apathy and lack of overall influence from the competition. But boy, am I glad I changed.

Another convert. Soon the transformation will be complete.

Knowing me I've hopelessly mangled my technical terms. My Broadband provider changed it's software and I have 2 computers that have different OSes and therefore different ways of connecting to the 'net; One stopped working, and now only works with IE. Still, it's a step up, I suppose.Stuart Mackey wrote:? I've seen Pcm979's problem with someone at work. Verizon wants you to use MSN internet. MSN internet didn't work very well (ok not at all) with someone I just convinced to switch to firefox. Funny thing was she switched to firefox because MSN was screwing up IE too.
Beware Windows. Linux Comes.

Just a couple of questions about Firefox (v1.0 preview release):
How can I set it up so that when i open a new tab, it defaults to my home page, rather than a blank page?
Also, is there any way to set it so that a link which opens a new page opens in a new tab, instead (without having to middle-click it)?

Hmmm. I don't have an Edit -> Preferences menu item. I can set my home page in Tools -> Options, but that one takes effect when I open a new window, not a new tab in an existing window.

try downloading myie2. it works on the same basic engine as IE, so your computer should be able to run it, but it has alot of nice features that normal ie doesn't have, like tabbed browsing, build in popup blocking, mouse gestures, etc. i find it's a nice alternative to regular IE.Pcm979 wrote:My stupid internet service provider royally fucked up my connection for about a month; Now only IE works on my computer.

My BF & my sis converted my computers to Firebird, delivering us from the evils of IE. Hallelujah!

I converted to FireFox recently and love it. It is much better than IE. Only time I use IE now at home is when I use one of my older computers.
Now I am trying to figure out the Mozilla SDK, maybe I can write a browser using the engine FireFox used. It should be better than INET browser I wroe previously.

I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.
