I just ordered the Dell 2001FP 20 inch flat panel for $614 shipped. From the opinions I've read at Ars, the consensus is that for the money, it's a steal despite a 'screen door' effect (my laptop has this as well and it doesn't bother me) and a marginal refresh rate for gaming.
My only concern is getting one with dead pixels, but Dell has a 30 day return policy and I'll just return the SOB and keep on using my Viewsonic P95f+ CRT if there are dead pixels, but not enough to qualify for replacement under warranty.
I'll be driving it with an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, so I do have a DVI connection.
Anyone here have experience with the monitor?

"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier
