Cord wrapping and losening of the wires

This is starting to piss me off.

I carry a labtop to school and I have to wrap the plug up in order to put it in my bag effectively. However, I've found out just recently that this wrapping may have caused the wires to loosen and now the chord does not work any more. I've experienced this several time with other wires that I've had to wrap up for school.

Any suggestions on how to either fix the problem or prevent it from happening again, because this has really pissed me off

EDIT: Just tried to futs with it again, copper wires AND casing around them are snapped--THEY SPARKED.

Well you can fix it if you have a soldering iron and some heat shrink tube (or electrical tape). But it'd probably be easier and safer to just buy a new cord if possible.

Dude, just use velcro cable ties. That way, they're all organized, but nothing gets crimped to the point where it would make the wire brittle.
