Follow the sword...
This is what we Zelda players dream of.

Actually, it looks like Link is riding a goat with a face. That ain't a horse's tail there.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

Ok...it's a freaky little gnome. Is there some sort of hatred of freaky little gnomes in Zelda?Praxis wrote:Need another hint?

Yeah. This freaky little gnome is named Tingle.IRG CommandoJoe wrote:Ok...it's a freaky little gnome. Is there some sort of hatred of freaky little gnomes in Zelda?Praxis wrote:Need another hint?

In Zelda: The Wind Waker he dances around like an idiot, makes annoying noises, thanks you for helping him, and then proceeds to charge you several thousand rupees to decode a map and tells you to find 8 more maps and give him more money. DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES TO SAVE UP A THOUSAND RUPEES? At the start of the game your wallet can only hold 99! I HATE THAT LITTLE BUGGER! I spent more time making money to pay off Tingle than anything else in the entire game!
And in Zelda: Four Swords whenever a large amount of gems are on the screen he flies in with his balloon and tries to steal them from you. So fun to pop the balloon over lava...
There's even a petition somewhere to Nintendo to have Tingle die in the next Zelda game.
Bad example.Pcm979 wrote:You've not played Zelda? He is the most annoying character anywhere ever. Ep 1 Anakin would be a major improvement, to give you an idea.
Annie doesn't even compare.
Jar-Jar would be a major improvement.
Now that's scary

Anyways, the only Zelda game I've ever played (and never finished) was the one for SNES. I don't recall a Tingle in that one. But yeah, he sounds like a real asshole.

Let me get this straight. The Master Sword can defeat Ganondorf, but can't kill some stupid gnomish usurer?

Correct, but I never owned that game so I never got far enough to see what horrible things he does to you.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Tingle first appeared in Majora's Mask, just to clarify.
He also appears in Super Smash Bros. Melee on one Zelda stage. I love popping his balloon and sending him falling dooowwwnnnn....

How could you ignore him if you have to pay him to get maps and he tries to steal your money? If that was me, I'd constantly try to kill him.

Sadly, yes. I'm hoping he'll charge Link some outrageous sum in the next game that'll result in Link shaving his head off. Maybe make Tingle a boss with a ton of health so we can get a feel for whacking him over and over with the sword. And if it's not replayable, I'll be annoyed.Rogue 9 wrote:Let me get this straight. Yeah, and then with each whack rupees spill out.

You just don't pay attention to him.IRG CommandoJoe wrote:How could you ignore him if you have to pay him to get maps and he tries to steal your money? If that was me, I'd constantly try to kill him.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

In Four Swords, me and a friend (two player co-op) did that on purpose, actually. We'd injure ourselves to dump large amounts of money on the screen, then pop his balloon over pits of lava, or pits of toxic goo, or drop him on the floor and dive through a door just before a massive bomb nukes the entire stage... etcIRG CommandoJoe wrote:How could you ignore him if you have to pay him to get maps and he tries to steal your money? I fail to see how you couldn't pay attention to him considering you have to deal with him.
