Weekend Dawn of War session

Instead of bringing back the old thread, I thought it'd be better to start a nice, clean slate of a thread instead. Anyhow, the weekends are in! I thought it'd be nice to try another session with fellow DoW players.

And I think I finally fixed that crashing problem. It seemed like my cpu was overheating so I cleaned the fan a little and left the case open. Haven't had a crash yet.

Now, I must first eat dinner. But afterwards, I'm free to host a game if anyone's interested.

How? A properly outfitted space marines unit can take on almost anything (I prefer a fully upgraded unit w/ 2x plasma pistols, 2x rocket launchers and a sgt), backed up by Land Raiders or Dreadnaughts, as well as devastators late in the game.

And unlike most RTS games, their weapons emplacements aren't completely useless. Against AI, a properly layered series of defensive emplacements can kill almost anything.

We don't have Land Raiders, Dreads, or Avatars early game.

Still having problems, that and I have no TGA compatable graphics devices, although my brother says one comes with the camera he's getting me for my birthday/christmas....

Oh yeah, Rogue and I FINALLY won a game against 2 comps. FINALLY. After heaven knows how many embarrassing defeats!

But we won a nice one against 2 hard comps on quatra. Woot for that!

I have to sleep now, but we played a 1vs1 as a final game. My comp lagged like hell for some reason until I closed Firefox in the background. weird.

Oh, and I won.

Bah. I made a gigantic tactical blunder there at the end. I should have withdrawn rather than attempt to make you stop shelling. That gap was too narrow; my Dreadnoughts got jammed behind the Land Raider where they couldn't shred you to tiny pieces. >_< So you know, I was maxed out on both infantry and vehicles and was thirty seconds from going on the offensive myself.

Bleh, I was trying to get through the campaign on Insane. Didn't work too well; I keep getting overrun in Under Seige. Right, screw that. I'm up for multiplayer.
