I might pick it up again today, haven't been playing for a couple months.

Just hope my characters haven't been deleted. One of them had tons of collector cards but had to leave them all at the bottom of the Ankh :( along with a ton of blorped rocks. Well at least he didn't drown.

Rocks....? Trust me, then it was good to lose them.

The rocks, sure, but the cards, non.

Now I can blorp pebbles, tried to blorp a cheap necklace and died :P

My only complaint is that it's too easy to die instantly. Wouldn't be a problem but lives are limited.

well, anyways I have some questions. I just started another character (Merglen) and I want to keep him an adventurer. Is there a way to do the cheap advance thing like in the guild or is it all taskmastering? is there a support group for adventurers?

Talk to Boot (just ask) or Toli (Mention Echo when you talk to him) if they're still around, they'll probably be willing to help you. Otherwise just 'who teachers' and talk to one of them (I'd recomend Sined, but NEVER mention Echo to him, sort of a mistaken mis-understanding there.) Or if you want to waste EXP and lend me some, talk to me (Echo.)

Holt seems to have been delete for inactivity (it's a surprise the others weren't, maybe a couple weeks more and they'd be gone too... not that I haven't been considering starting 'em over :P)

"Adventurer" is just a fancy word for "you're on your own". There's no advantage to being an adventurer, it basically means you stay in the basics, you get no special commands other than those available to ALL guilds, and you can only learn by TMing or by asking others to teach you (which is like 10x more xp-expensive than learning from a guild, and is not recommended unless you've exceeded your guild's max amount, which is about 300 points for primary skills). Or teaching yourself, which is the same but even more expensive.

There's no drawback at all for being in a guild, except maybe for thieves cus they have to check in periodically with their guild... and assassins cause they eventually have to become player-killers.

Or have someone pick you out... it's really not that bad... Except if you've killed about 20 officers, as I did once before being caught, then you get about 2 hours of real-time lock-up that gets carried over between log-outs.

Got a bunch of Rod TMs though, so it wasn't THAT bad...

Okay next question, what are blorples and how do you use them?

If you're a wizard, there are two "blorping" spells you can learn: blorp rock and blorp jewelry (pretty much). The first one is relatively easy and has no dangerous effects, and "marks" a rock (the higher the skill, the smaller the rock you can blorp) so you can use it to create a portal to the place you blorped - the rock is consumed when you create the portal. The second spell is dangerous, needs a metric assload of skill to use, and is the same but with a ring, or necklace, etc. It can be used to create a portal multiple times, the jewelry gets damaged, the more expensive jewelry can be used a lot more times but it's even more dangerous when you blorp it. You can of course fix it in a jeweler so in fact it's got unlimited uses, in rare cases you can lose the jewelry, but it usually involves using very cheap ones (like copper) and using it till it breaks completely.

If you're not a wizard, you can buy blorped jewelry (for about 50 dollars a piece) and buy scrolls to cast portal on them.

I bought a blorbed rock, can I buy a scroll to use on it? what magic skills do you need to do it?

Don't know where you can buy scrolls, you should try player-run shops.

*shrug* I think this is normally reserved for high-level non-wizards who can spend lots of money or time TMing wizard skills.

I recommend you stick to old-fashioned walking. Or take the carriages, they're surprisingly useful.
