Halo 2: Multiplayer
Well I finally took the plunge and started playing online multiplayer games, starting with Halo 2. So far I have played it online for 2 days and find myself frustrated beyond any of my expectations.
Sunday afternoon I walked up to an enemy hefting a shotgun, myself I had a pair of plasma rifles. It was on the Zanzibar map and there was about 30 feet between us. Both of our shields were full (at least I suspect his were) and we opened fire. And so it was with great confusion that my Spartan was brought from full health to death by a single shotgun blast at a range that wasn't even close to point-blank. Oddly when I try the same trick at a closer distances it takes multiple shots to kill an opponent with the shotgun Of all the times I have died online, that one death still bugs me...how the hell did it happen?
Overall though, plaing online is great....if you have a good team to work with. Nothing bothers me more than a bunch of guys who don't realize you have to work together.

It could also be horrible luck, since there is a small chance that it still hit you full on with litle spread.
Since you were playing online, you could have lagged for a split second while he closed, too.
You could have been Beam Rifle'd in the head- that makes little noise if you don't see the beam going by, expecially in a large match where explosions and vehicles are sounding.

Well we have a Halo 2 Live name list. I'll play anything, and yes, I do try to hold a team together on team matches. Just look me up.
As far as the shotgun it had to be either a head shot, or a combo of the blast and someone else. Online especially I find myself being assaulted by multiple people at one time. This is the only FPS where I can't exactly charge in, because I usually don't come back out.

Were you born with out a sense of humor or did you lose it in a tragic whoppy cushion accident? -Stormbringer

Outside of starting a matchmaking game, you can go to bungie.net, or you can look at your gamertag at the top of your friends list (in game) where it will show your highest ranking out of all gametypes.Steven Snyder wrote:I have to think it was either a great spread, or a shot from a distant shooter...when the camera panned out there was no one else in sight except the guy that killed me, and my back was against a wall.
How do you find what your "Level" is?
