Ground Control II and Medieval Conquest are pretty good. They're only $20 each and are well worth it. Only problems are that they have pretty crappy pathfinding, considering how far that stuff is supposed to have come these days.

Half-Life 2 will run on your system. They intentionaly designed it to run on older systems as well as new ones.

Get Marine Sharpshooter 2. I haven't played it, but I did play the first one. Not bad for 20 bucks, and it involves sniper mission, which are my favorite when it comes to shooters.

Some 20 dollar games aren'rt worth it. Do NOT, EVER get a game from The Adventure Company. Their idiotic adventure games make no sense whatsoever, and are insulting as hell when you DO find the solution.

If you like Adventure games and can find The Longest Journey it's well worth it.

Armed & Dangerous is a fun little game and is a good laugh.

If you want a cheap, fun FPS that's long on action and short on (good) story, then go pick up Chaser. I'm kind of a shill for the game, and it's really not all that great (the story is weak and the ending sucks), but it's got good gameplay... large levels, fun arcade style (you mow down guys by the dozens)... check it out if'n you wanna.

Also if you like Tactical turn based combat, check out Silent Storm, set in WWII, it's got a humungous array of weaponry and the terrain is fully destructible.

RPG: Arcanum is now budget - fantastic. Huge and diverse gameplay. This is a GOOOOOOD game.

FPS: Operation Flashpoint and expansions - all available for less than $50 Aus total. Though it does have some quibbles, the MASSIVE amount of user made addons for it mean that you can fight in any time period from WW1 (I think there were even some Napoleonic era mods) to a little into the future.

Strategy: Ground Control 1 or Silent Storm. Maybe even Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 if you are feeling like you wanna get whupped by the computer day after day.

Could always look for the old Serious Sam games.

Yep, true budget games now way past the bargin bins (though Serious Sam 2 might still be found) good graphics that scale well, and mowing down millions.

If you can look past the dated graphics, Anachranox is a fun game, and both Freedom Fighters, the Red Dawn style game are fun as is Freedom Force the superhero game.

Go download Soldat. It's the most fun you can have blowing shit up with friends on a low-end PC.

Blitzkrieg is a good WW2-RTS, and fairly recent. I've found copies for around 20 bucks or so.

If you've got a Walmart in your area, you can probably find an assload of old games pretty cheap-- i picked up the first 3 Doom games on one disk, plus a preview of Doom 3, for $10. Just a thought...

Minesweeper.

A lot of those games won't work with integrated graphics, I don't think. Not even a lot of the old ones. Integrated graphics is an abomination. Is there an AGP slot on your motherboard? I'm guessing no, but on the off chance there was, get a real video card first. Doesn't have to be fancy. Then you can play a lot of games, since other parts of your system are better than what I have, and I can run Half Life 2 silky smooth with a decent level of detail.

Go for *real* games like European Air War. I bought one at Singapore with a price less than twenty *Singaporean* Dollars. CD-case only, of course (with PDF manual on CD). Sort of budget-minded, jewel-case-only packaging for old games. Crimson Skies also available in such packages.

Of course, the widest range of jewel case, budget package series is Electronic Arts's Classic Collection. There so many real classic titles like
the original Command Conquer (Win 95 edition), Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, and X-Wing vs TIE Fighter.

EDIT: you're using integrated graphics? Then probably you may want to spend your money on improving graphic first before buying any games. Even the first Red Alert (the one featuring Stalin) has noticeable choppiness when played with integrated graphics.

Fallout 1 & 2

Plancescape: Torment.

Of course, if you don't mind *really* old games (before the era of CD-ROM and SVGA), you can always download abandonwares. First, they're not SVGA, so they wont tax your integrated graphic too much. Second, don't misjudge them by their looks; you'll be surprised on how addictive games were during pre-Pentium era.

Some of the old point and clicks are good games.

Gabriel Knight:Sins of the Fathers is a good atmospheric game which came in a floppy drive version, or CD with voiceovers from Michael Dorn, Tim Curry, Mark Hamill among others.

Freespace. You can find it in the bargain bins for dirt cheap. The sequel Freespace2 isn't sold in stores anymore, but its available for download legally. More info at HLP. (General Freespace section of the board)

Freespace and Freespace 2 were sold in a double bargain label in the UK, if you're able to get one imported or on Ebay under the White Label.

Get half-life (not 2). I've found it as low as 5 bucks and with it you can get all kinds of cool fps ( multiplyer: counter-strike, day of defeat, singleplayer: half-life, opposing force) for free with it using steam. All you have to do is just download them.

Probably won't work with integrated graphics. Even games 10 years old will often run unnaceptably or with major artifacts on integrated graphics. Sprite based games like Fallout should be fine, though.
