From some reason my XP professional doesn't seem to have the generic USB audio driver; anyone know where I might be able to find it? I'm pretty sure it's supposed to have such a simple driver, but somehow it doesn't.

The hardware didn't come with an install disk?

Check the manufacturer's website for downloads.

I've done the checking; it's a basic driver that comes with windows. I hooked my little USB sound card into my roommates laptop and it found the driver just fine.

Then scan Microsoft's online driver database, or the Windows XP disk for your computer. Worst case scenario, do an overlay reinstall of Windows.

Microsoft's driver database is completely useless. Besides; why would they keep "Generic USB Audio" driver!
I've done some checking - all the files used by the driver exist on my machine. Anyone know how to write an .inf? heh
