um i double clicked on it (the little white box surrounded by window looking icon that it was) , got one of those wonderful command line windows (totally blank BTW) and then it dissapears. i then tried to startup the game and it pulled the same shit on me.

The patch should work for you.SFC3Files.com wrote:sfc3 beta patch v534_b ( all languages) (534_b)
reinstalling is a prerequisite, if that fails get the 534b patch since it allows for no CD playCabwi Desco wrote:okay i got the DX9 fix and the game loads but when i get to the main page it says PLEASE INSERT THE CORRECT CD, umm its in there you bucket o' bolts!

You have to uninstall SFC3 and delete it's folders
Then install SFC3 Do not install DX8 or GameSpy
Then install the patch
After the patch is installed go into your C:\Progam Files\Activision\Sfc3 folder and open the sfc.ini file
scroll down to the [UI] section, in that section where it says MakeItSo=0 replace the 0 with a 1 and save the change
And now you can play without the CD

NOOO. Do NOT install the DX9 fix. Install the LATEST PATCH. The latest patch includes the DX9 fix, and if you have the DX9 fix installed you can't install the latest patch...

Yes, if you don't there might be some stuff left over that'll screw the game upCabwi Desco wrote: right so i Uninstall and delelte the folders
You reinstall the game first, when the the game asks you to instal DX8.1 and gamespy do not install thosenow after that should i get the patch THEN reinstall, or should i do it the other way around?
After the game is installed you then install the patch
After the patch is installed you edit the sfc.ini file like I told you in my previous post
Yes, the 534b patch includes the DX9 fix as well as the Nemesis add on and a playable Scimitaralso should i get rid of the JUST DX9 patch?

You don't have a download manager and you have dialup connection?
Gamespot has the patch and they have this DLX thing which will make Downloading it easier for you because you can pause the download and resume it whenever you want. But you'll have to sign up for a gamespot basic account
This is the DLX url: http://dlx.gamespot.com/pc/startrekstar ... 12235.html

Haven't tried. I made my own Star Trek vs Star Wars mod, including EU. Can you take out an ISD with a Defiant? I thought not...Cabwi Desco wrote:yes but can you defeat 5 borg cubes by yourself in a sovreign class dreadnaught? i thought not...Praxis wrote:And you are speaking to a member of the winning team in the last two GFL Tournaments.Cabwi Desco wrote: i would tear you apart, your speaking to the master of the H.E.T.!
