At the request of some peeps on the SD.net chat, i'll be running a Sci-Fi game using the HERO system. Anyone feel-free to join. If your familair with the HERO rules but need a refresher just post-so and I'll run you though the basics.

Since this is a Sci-Fi game, and not high-fantasy, there are of course, some restrictions on powers and house-rules.

#1) No innate powers, technology is not THAT advanced yet, use equipment people.

#2) No teleportation, material replication, FTL travel, or anything that violates conservation of energy.

#3) No ships or vehciles, a ship will be provided for you.

#4) You may not spend more then 40 points on any one pieice of equipment.

#5) No phases, mazers, grazers or ion-ray-cannons. Humanity mainly uses projectile weaopons (rail guns, etc) and some lasers. Think weapons kind of like the human weapons our of Halo.

#6) There is genetic engineering, so you can spend as many points as you want on your stats.

#7) Every PC starts with nurel-implants (allowing direct control of computers) by default. Anyone who does not want to start with these may do so, they get 10 extra poitns for the disadvantage.

Each PC starts with 60 points.

You could put a lot of points into stats and get power armor as equipment, sure.

Yes you can, just get a simple bed and don't decorate your room too much.

Only for charachter creation, it gets easier after that.

I dont know the D6 system, or GURPS.

D6 is pretty easy to use, and shoudln't take long for ye to learn.

How about Interlock (R. Talsorian) or even Fuzion. Just some thoughts.
