They're gone, and they won't be coming back. Looks like the MPAA sent some cease and desist letters their way.

Suprnova worked fine earlier today and yesterday night, I wouldnt write them off just yet, especially looking at how they IIRC have something in the order of a dozen servers all over the world, all outside the US and some in places where the sharing of information on where to obtain copyrighted material isnt illegal. The word I heard about why Suprnova was down lately was because of server change issues, nothing related to the MPAA stuff. So, maintain faith my brethren BitTorrent user, I think they wont be going anywhere.

I never thought I would thank a Swedish for anything, but thanks man for shedding some light on the matter. Now, I just hope that this place stays up.

That's a mirror of SN not SN itself.

It works fine though, just DL:ing an episode of Nikita from there.

Yes, but it will cease to be updated and the torrent links will go stale.

Yep, seems like it is like that allready. Nothing new for hours. And if Im not completely inane, I dont even see any way to add new torrents there. *Shrug* well, there will be new places to fill the void. Suprnova though was so insanely huge that I doubt any place will have the sheer amount of content that was available there.

Isn't Suprnova based in Russia or somewhere? How would the MPAA be able to do anything to them?

The explanation offered on SN was bandwidth problems, and I hear people have been talking of SN having those kinds of problems.

If there was a way to torrent stuff through IRC, it would rock.

Imagine someone hosting a minimalist tracker on their bot. You go into IRC channel, do a !tracker or whatever to get a list of what's available and who is seeding what, then you can have the bot dcc you the .torrent which is only 30k max. This could work for broadband users who host only a few torrents, and people with fat pipes supporting the current BT sites could still manage huge trackers.

Damnit none of my torrents are connecting to their trackers anymore.

Oh well, back to DC I guess.

/Tsar Putin: "Agreed."

/Raving MPAA execs now acting dogs which have just fed: "Oh, thank you! America is forever in your debt! What do you wish in return for this wonderful act of conformity!?"

this is why you always hunt down alternative sites. in case the one you use most goes belly up.

I ended up signing on LokiTorrent (because lots of suprnova torrents were from there, and they required authentication), and it has a lot of stuff.

Yeah, they are on Bi-Torrent, the entirety of the first and second season. You should grab them fast though, since Bi-Torrent will be dying pretty soon. Though, when it does, you can atleast find some of the 2nd Season Eps of Nikita from Filesoup. Loki-Torrent also has some Nikita eps.

NIkita and Jeremiah are both series that are a real bitch to find anywhere. Which is a real shame since they are both so kick-ass series.

Couldn't that be considered an act of war?

No. Technically we shouldn't have been talking about downloading Nikita.
