For EA haters out there.... Sign the petition!!

Probably it's quite old, but I just stumble upon
this petition when searching the net using "EA sucks" keywords. Basicallly it has more to do with XBox, but when I read the signatures, actually there are tons of reasons why people hates EA (mostly related to shitty games). You can sign the petition
here. Also, there's even a
forum particularly dedicated to discuss how sucking ass EA is.
I will never forgive EA for killing Jane's.
DIE EA DIE DIE DIE!!!!
Now, if only there's also petition for Infogrames......

Ea does not suck. the way they drive their workforce so hard is....regrettable. But I love their games. I will sign no petition against them.

I'd be a hypocrite if I signed this as I still want the Medal of Honor games...

Alright, there is actually FEW gems like Battle for Middle Earth, but compared to the hordes of GENERIC, McDonalized "games" they produces, not to mention killing Ultima and Jane's......
EDIT: besides, when good games become more and more rare gems, there must be something wrong with the company, right?

EA must die for their unskippable opening logos.

Go to your EA Game shortcut and click properties. At the end of the target
"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead Demo\moh_spearhead_demo.exe"
add
set cl_playintro 0
Which should look like this.
"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead Demo\moh_spearhead_demo.exe" set cl_playintro 0

It's the principle of it, damnit!
Thanks

EA Sucks, Signed

Well seems like you should just not buy their games if they suck. It would be a lot more decisive than signing some petition. The reason why EA is in business is because their crappy games sell.

This petition is utterly useless. I hope nobody seriously thinks EA will give a damn about it. Not buying their goods would be a better way.

I haven't bought an EA game in a looooooong time. What pisses me off is they're the only ones producing football games anymore, and football games have sucked for years.

That's not skipping, skipping is pressing spacebar or escape to go directly into the game.

Unfortunately, EA has made their own definition of skipping and therefore my "bla bla bla yadda yadda yadda" stands.

Has any online petition, in the whole history of the Internet, ever accomplished something?

They've generated a lot of commentary in web boards.

I believe there was a successful petition to get the game Star Trek: Armada II made. Of course, considering Armada II was one of the biggest flops of 2001, it didn't achieve much at the end of the day!

Right, so they're worthless, then.

EA bought and closed westwood. thats enough in my opinion. they made C&C generals, but that game sucked so much butt compared to the real C&C games.

I'm not surprised. Gaming corporate VAMPIRES deliberately ruin or kill good franchises in order to lowering gamer's expectation, because:
- good gameplay needs good talents, OTOH generic "games" are much cheaper to produce
- gamers who're tired with generic, repetitive gameplay over and over again are usually nice target for *expansion packs*. Unfortunately, those expansion packs are usually not much better than the original.
See, "old-school" gamers, who usually have high gameplay expectations, will eventually die of old age (for example, many people at combatsim are above 30; myself is 29). So it's very *important* for big-time "game" publisher to
brainwash next generation of gamers (teenage gamers, etc) to lower their expectation, so eventually they will accept and even enjoy generic shits published by those vampires (the way recording industry brainwashing clueless teenagers to accept generic shits like boys band or Britney Spears).
Ruining or killing good franchises (
Look what Infogrames did to X-Com) is a way to accomplish this kind of brainwashing. Eventually there will be the day when next generation gamers will be completely unaware of
Ultima's excellent gameplay, or intriguing storyline of the original
Command & Conquer, while they would think
X-Com: Enforcer is already the best thing around. And on that day, the gaming publisher's board room would be stained by ejaculatory fluids, as every board of directors member will experience simultaneous orgasm seeing the success of their gamenazi brainwash. HEIL ELECTRONIC ARTS!!! HEIL INFOGRAMES!!! HEIL CORPORATE VAMPIRES!!!

You say that those fucking bastards at EA are only in it for the money? You'll forgive me if I don't follow your example of crapping myself at the breakfast table and sobbing into my cheerios at the plight of the industry. If you've got a problem with the way they run their business just don't buy their games. Don't waste your time and effort putting your name on a petition that wouldn't register a blip if the entire nation of South Korea signed off on it.

What else, then? Saving the planet earth?

Uhhm... no. Actually you don't want to know WHAT my example is...
which actually involves rubbing and shaking my own vital organ with a sandpaper. See, I told you you don't want to know!

Actually the last EA game I bought was
Jane's USAF. I stopped buying their games *before* I saw the petition.

Yes, but it wouldn't hurt me either. Thus, I did sign it anyway.

The point being, one person not buying their games is crap. they want to get the message of it being crap out there, so nobody else has the misfortune to buy it.

To be frank, I'm not putting my entire hope on petition after all. IMHO, more effective way to revitalize games is to regulate the industry, to ban MONOPOLY in gaming industry, to prevent, or at least set the limit on how a publishing giant would devour smaller ones. IIRC they did the same thing to Rockefeller's oil companies around 1930s (1940s? Was it FDR?).
Imagine if Sony buying out everything from Klipsch to Velodyne, then stop making high-end products, offering only average systems as the only choice on the market. Would you be happy, then?

The reason EA is getting so powerful is because the costs of business are becoming exceedingly high and only those with strong portfolios are really able to survive. With the exception of the latest NFL exclusive license, nobody is forcing the smaller publishing house to accept EA's terms. This isn't Standard Oil undercutting the small gasoline company.

I don't know the details of Antitrust Law, but wouldn't it be considered monopoly when a particular company keep acquiring the smaller ones on the same business field? Isn't the Antitrust Law the one keeping Microsoft from acquiring Linux companies?
