On "Official" Game threads

I'm getting sick of people labeling their game theards as "official". The validity of a self-proclaimed a thread as "official" aside, there are several things I wish to point out.
1. A thread isn't going to be taken less seriously because you didn't label it as the "official" thread.
2. People are not going to start other threads simply because you didn't label yours as the "official" one.
3. If someone starts an "official" thread when there is already a thread on a given game/subject, they are nothing more then an attention seeking whore. Feel free to flame away.
In other words, unless you are a Mike (or a mod trying to bring some semblance of order to a multi-thread mess on a single subject), please avoid labeling your thread as the "official" thread. While I can promise no concrete punishment for doing so I will, from that point on, consider you an idiot.
