Notebook battery indicator

Post by Spyder »

Got an Acer notebook running windows xp. The battery indicator won't stay in the system tray. It's set to show in the system tray, but doesn't. It's not just hidden and inactive or anything stupid like that, if I disable showing the indicator, reboot, then enable it it'll show up again but then won't be there the next time. I'm running windows xp SP2. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Edit: Made thread title not "Notebook batter indicator." Assumed batter is fine.

Click Start->Control Panel->Power and check the "Always Show" checkbox

Yes, that's what I was talking about. It's set right now but it doesn't show. If I unset that and reboot then set it again it'll show but it won't the next time I boot up.

And yes I've made sure it's not just hiding inactive icons.
