what do you do when you've got too much data?

Answer with the first thing that pops into your mind.
It's a simple problem but I'm curious as to how other people on this forum would approach it.
EDIT: Assume the data you keep on this drive is already compressed as far as it'll go, zip files, properly encoded music and video ect. Also assume that you have some spare cash available for buying a new drive should you decide to go with that option.

Start deleting, generally, I only ever have about 4 or 5 games on the computer at any one time, and the one that doesnt get played gets obliterated and that usually frees up a couple of gigabytes. I'm a tight-wad student, see?

The sole reason why my hard drive space disappears is anime. So off to burning them on DVD-Rs it is.

Deleating, but thankfully, a 300GB drive will soon fix all that+ a 74GB drive, and my current 80GB one.
You see, I like game movies

Catagorize, sort and analyse all data and information. Purge all irrelevent data and infromation. Retain only that which is useful and necessary. Create physical backups of valueable data and information. Assimilate a new harddrive.
Repeat as often as necessary.

Generally, delete. It's not like I'm going to watch 50-episode anime series more than once. Generally I only keep stuff long enough to have a chance to give it to anyone else who might have interest in it. After that, it gets replaced.

I start burning things, but not onto CDs. I didn't know how big games were now until I saw that C&C Generals was taking up almost 2 gigs. I remember when PCGamer took points off a game because it took almost a gigabyte of space. God.

A combination of 1 and 2, since I usually have lots of games installed eating up hard disk space so uninstalling one or two is a no brainer, and also stuff like big downloads (ISO images that I've been lazy to burn). Recently I got a DVD burner, and I still have like 48 blank dvds left, I can fit 7 cd images or 4.5 gb in each one, which is pretty cool.

Start burning, then I prune, then I burn some more, then I buy a new harddrive, load everything back up ... and then 1 year later (depending) rinse and repeat.

I would burn them. Burn them all!!!!!
Seriously, this has saved my ass a couple of times not just for my machine (and other computers belonging to family & friends close to me) when the HDD kicked the bucket.

I had this problem before I got a new computer, since there was only about 5 gigabytes on the hard drive, and then, I just uninstalled games I didn't play very often, or acessories I didn't need. I never had to resort to uninstalling a game I played a lot, since I only had about 3 or 4 on the computer.

Deleting useless junk usualy does the trick for me, but if that doesn't work burning some things worth keeping around would be the next step.

I generally delete.

I delete which I don't use and burn which I use occasionally. For instance, I just cleared several gigs of freeware games by burning them to cd when I decide to play them again (since many of them are hard to find). Most of the time though, I just delete the junk I've downloaded but didn't like (programs, wallpapers, pictures, shows), and empty the internet files (My sister had over 3 gigs once in temporary internet files).
If that still gives me trouble, its time to break out the wallet and get another drive.

Delete.
Anything I want to back up is done at the earliest possible opportunity, As a general rule I don't *wait* to run out of HDD space before I start burning stuff to cd.
As for upgrading... I have a hard time tracking what's on my system as it is, I don't actualy need any more space.

Combination of backing up and deleting. Backup what I want to keep, and delete everything I'm not really using.
