DVD Rom for Laptop

I put a used laptop on layaway today but it does not come with a CD Rom but I can find them online fairly easily. The cost of DVD roms are not too much so I am considering getting a DVD rom instead of a CD Rom. The listing on teh part states that there are no drivers with teh drive. What drivers will I need?

It's just a replacement internal DVD-ROM, you don't need any drivers to read discs.
Now if you want to watch movies on it, you'll need some DVD movie playback software like Power DVD or WinDVD.
If it's an external USB or Firewire unit, you may need drivers.
If so, just go to the manufacturer's website and download them.
