New 3D Castlevania for PS2 in the works

The Dungeon's "article" about it (scans from the original magazine)
The new issue of Play Magazine had details on a new Castlevania game for the PS2, called Curse of Darkness. This time you play as either Hector or Isaac, Dracula's ex-Forgemasters. They (or at least Hector, I don't know what happened to the other guy later in the interview) can collect "Innocent Devils" which can mature to do Hector's bidding, not entirely unlike Pokémon. It seems like you'll be able to store only a finite amount of them, and let someone else keep the others, even more like Pokémon.
The story takes place three years after Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse (in other words 1479). And Hector does something, and some friend betrays him and now he wants revenge. Something about his wife too, probably killed or kidnapped.
There were talk about including Belmonts in the story, which can mean anything. It seems like you will not be able to play as a Belmont, though. Nor will you use a whip, and Dracula will not make an appearance. The game will have lots of outdoor areas, around Hector's friend's house, which will be the main place of the game (if I read it correctly), so Castlevania won't be in the game either. Actually, if they'd put Castlevania in the game they'd be taking a huge shit on the storyline of the other games (something that Koji "IGA" Igarashi does not mind at all. He actively denies any games that he did not make, except CVIII, to be part of the storyline. Like: Legends, CV64 & LoD, CotM) since Castlevania was destroyed three years earlier...
Why they're even calling it "Castlevania" is beyond me... Well, not really, famous name == better sales
AoS at least had Castlevania in it, and LoI had a Belmont and the Vampire Killer whip, making it potentially intresting. This game has nothing making it worthy the name Castlevania. Well, okay, there's a white-haired guy that looks like a girl, like there has been in every game of IGA's making (and they all look like Alucard from SotN), but that is not enough to qualify it, damnit!
Well, that's my little rant. I'll spare you my thoughts about IGA and his denial of the existance of Castlevania: Legends, which, IMO, has the most intresting story of all Castlevanias. Hopefully this is just a hoax, or at least that they'll call it Castlevania is... Please let it be a hoax
