"Eliminate All Agents", Remember Syndicate?

Oh joy! I have found an abandonware site during my browsing through game titles of the past glory days which happens to have one of my all time favourite Amiga games ever:
Syndicate.
The link for this DOS version is
here and it seems to run without a hitch. I thought I'd never find this title again since I can't even find the sequel that came out long after it on CD-ROM but which I never had chance to play. This is as close to
Ghost in the Shell or some similar cyberpunk series as you get.
Anyone else wish they'd make a totally new version much like the cancelled
Hired Guns 2 project?

I like Syndicate, but I hate American Revolt with a vengeance.
Syndicate Wars wasn't bad either. Pretty buildings that go boom!

Synidcate was awesome - All Amiga Bullfrog games were though...
I played Powermonger for about two years...

I never got the add-on because I heard it was crappy too, but the original alone is brilliant. I've just got a DOS emulator to work properly now as no sound was appearing before using XP.

Syndicate rocked! They put out a sequel at some point.

Yeah the sequel is the one I said, called Syndicate Wars.
You can probably find it as abandonware too.

WOW. I used to play this game when I was in high school, around 1997, in the computer lab. It was fun, especially with everything unlocked.

There you go, from the same
site
I remember, one of the funnest parts was to steal a car and drive over everybody else. Sort of like a poor man's Grand Theft Auto. There were missions that required you to hijack one (since they're the only way to pass thru gates), and if it got destroyed all you could do was watch all your agents burn.

I used to love syndicate. I remember one mission had you going in to kill a scientist. Only, once you stepped through the gate you were rushed by about 30 enemy cyborgs. I armed my groups with persuadotrons and went to town on them.

Loved Syndicate. Wasnt there also an addon with very tough missions?
Wars sucked tough (imo)

Oh, this looks good. I'll give it a run...
...anyone know what URL/systems I'd need to use in order to download the file directly with Fresh Download (I trust CompuServe to handle the file about as far as I could chunk my computer, unit, monitor, and all)?

Ahh... Syndicate. I remember those days when I always tried avoiding to use those stimulant drugs on my agents (same way I always did with System Shock) .
Those were the days where gameplay really mattered. Are we going to see anything remotely like Syndicate nowadays?

American Revolt. Note that very though add-on adopted later by
Command Conquer: Covert Ops and
Red Alert: Counterstrike.

I loved Syndicate at first, but once I had conquered Europe, Asia and Africa, it got boring. Every mission was just the same mow-down-30-enemy-agents-then-kill-or-capture-someone.
A bit more diverse missions and I would still play it, but as it is, nah.

Did anyone ever leave one agent with the persuadotron on so that every civilian your walked past joined you? I loved having a veritable wall of pedestrians between me and the bullets of the enemy agents or cops, then WHAM! You use a laser or portable rocket launcher and take them all out at the same time.

AV you fucking HERO. I've been searching for this for ages!
I think one of the cheats for it to get all the stuff is "mikesteam" as your company name (but you can change it), the SWars cheat was "Pooslice" where you had to enter something at the start.
These guys directly inspired Earth's allies "the syndicate" in my fictional universe too, man I'm glad you posted this.
I think one of the levels used to have a glitch in itwhere no matter what you did, the guy you were supposed to save got shot. I persuadertroned everyone on the map, practically, enemy agents and all and he still kept dying. Maybe it's fixed now.

I always liked the look of the weapons on Wars, especially the razor wire (buckytube?) that couldn't be seen and cut up unwitting people or the "black rain" system which was satellites with uranium fuel rods that dropped on a certain site.
