Its a fun concept, but ends up being boring, though the plot is nice, if its in the bargin bin, pick it up.

Ah, good old Impossible Lobsters - though the Insect Invasion pack spiced stuff up a bit (it was a free download too). Mmmm... Biblical and mythological creatures to splice...

Hey, you'll never guess what animal I mixed my Bull with so he could swim and regenerate!

I hated teh fact I landed up rebuilding almost every level. I hate rebuilding my forces every level, or close to every level.

Most if not all RTSs are like that. There are exceptions like Homeworld, but in some cases it's a good thing, since it can be unbalancing.

You can really fuck it up in HW if you let your ships get killed early when you're just learning, then later you won't have enough ships or money to win the harder missions, and it's a pain in the ass to start from scratch from mission 1 (luckily, I realized it was a good idea to start from scratch after the 4th mission or so).

This makes all missions self contained so you can just continue with your campaign.

HW actually scales the difficulty so if you don't have a lot of ships, it makes it easier. But my two favorite RTS games have been HW and Myth, both of which, had either carry over or just a static assignment. Self containment is fine, but going through the task of building your forces every time gets old.

Well, there are those who argue that having to build a small city complete with mining and factories and a church in the middle of a battlefield is a bit unrealistic.

Just as a note, he doesn't mean what you think he means.

In the impossible creatures single player campaign you star out with a very limited selection of creatures to combine. Additional creatures can be found running around the maps, and must be tagged before you can incorporate them into your army.

And as you aquire new samples, you have to edit your army on the fly to incorporate them. Having to fiddle around with your army configuration on a regular basis can be a little tedious.

I doubt it. Making (what, 2 or 3) templates again for your old creatures is hardly tedious, and only takes a minute. "Rebuilding my forces" means exactly that: having to produce all my stuff all over again since I start with any troops or buildings beyond the basic.
