2 Questions; p2p and Quicktime/iTunes

First off, does anyone know what the best P2P program is at the current time? I have Kazaa Lite Resurrection, but I don't know if it's the best.

Second, does anyone know where I can get Quicktime without having to download iTunes? The Apple website won't let me download them seperately, and I prefer Winamp to iTunes...

Don't fileshare.

bittorrent is the present big thing. though that's about as much as i can say without crossing over the legal line on the forums.

Why? As long as I'm not sharing copyrighted materials, there's no problem.

well, the way bittorrent works is it's dependent on tracker sites to upload and download materials from. it doesn't offer an interface like kazaa or emule. rather than searching for individual files and downloading them, you download a .torrent file from a tracker and share the material over the same connection with whoever has the file and .torrent on that connection and tracker.

there's a ton of clients out there, such as bittornado, azureus, G3torrent, bitcomet, etc. but the vast majority of sites i wouldn't be able to list on the forum. (though the chat is another matter entirely. *cough. cough*)

Well, sort'of, because BitTorrent and its mods don't have a search program like Kazaa and iMesh. For BitTorrent, you've got to acess specific websites, and that will be where the legal matters are "touched" .
However, I've heard a lot about eMule, though, in my personal opinion, it's not as good as BitTorrent.
And CDS is giving a good advice, filesharing software like Kazaa and the rest is a good way to have your computer and personal data hacked into, as well as getting your HD bugged with a plethora of virus.

Well, I *do* have BT. KLR is fairly safe, though, isn't it? I thought it was free of spyware and backdoors.

the program itself, yes. what you happen to DL off the proggie is another issue entirely. which is one reason bittorrent is superior, as many bt sites are moderated to prevent that type of problem from creeping up.

Without going into BT(Zod, thanks), I personally like Emule, fast, convienient, and reletivly few bad files.

CDS, don't hop into every P2P thread with anti-P2P stuff, we get the point.

I'm a mac user, but I used Limewire because that's the only thing I know of that (hardly) works, but I think there was another one called Acquisition. However, I'm going to have to get the firewall turned off before I test it.
