HVD To Counter Blu-Ray?

Has anyone heard of Optware's Holographic Versatile Disc format taking off lately in competition against the next-gen. DVDs? I heard their holographic disc of 12cm in diameter held around 1TB of data, which is a wee bit more than any DVD.

Last I heard the holographic disks could hold 1 TB and were so far away they were being considered as competition for the NEXT-next-gen DVD's.
We won't be seeing them anytime soon.
Right now the next gen DVD's is HD-DVD (30 GB and can be produced at current manufacturing plants) vs Blu-ray (50 GB but requires new factories to be built for it).
