Anyone play this game yet?
Want some advice?
Don't buy it.
The first level totally blew me away, but then come the "on foot" sections. This game has everything I hated about Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike.
It's worth a rental, but I seriously can't see spending fourty dollars on it.
You know what? Just get out your N64 and play Starfox 64 again, it's a better way to spend your time.....

I intend to get it, but from what I've heard that will be more to do with mild fanboysim of the people who made it (Namco's Ace Combat team) than the merits of the game.
I hear the flying sections are the shit, and the non-flying sections are just shit.

Ok, what do they find so hard about keeping you in the air... I mean really. When you played Starfox 64, didn't you avoid the fights in the tank and the sub? I did. For good reason, THEY WEREN'T AS FUN AS FLYING. You would think the people making these games would figure that out, especially after... whatever the fuck that Starfox game with dinosaurs was.
Oy...

How much of the game is actually in an Airwing then? Because that was the only reason I was considering buying it

There are three levels that are classic Starfox 64-style "on rails" levels.
They are fucking awsome. The opening mission takes place in a battle between the Cornerian fleet and the remnants of Andross' armada. It is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!
Most levels are a combination of "on foot, in the Landmaster, and some Arwing flying."
On foot sucks, the Landmaster is kinda cool, and the Arwing fucking owns.
There's also one level where you fly in a set mission area, and have to intercept enemy missiles (Like Sector Z in Starfox 64).
It's definitly worth a rental...

If you mention the Horror known as Adventures in my presence again, I will shove a klingon painstick so far up your ass, you'll need to rent a Roto-rooter to get it out.......
There are some flying only levels, but they're just too few to merit buying the game

I actually played the sub level, but because there was ONLY ONE so the diversity was interesting. If half the levels were subs, I would have been avoiding them as well.

The flying levels were subpar to anything from SF64 bar Aquas and the Desert Landmaster level(I really like the Forever Train), all of them were about as fun as Corneria, which was one of the duller levels. They were short and uninspired and basicly rips off of SF64 levels, only worse in every way except visibly. Plus they severly cut down the agility of the AR-Wing, no more moving around the screen quickly dodging enemy fire and physical obsticles, but don't worry, there really isn't anything to threaten you. No challege anywhere, its all childs play, nothing like Either of the Venom missions, real Andross's 2nd form, Venom's air defence network, the stealth mission, or trying to make it into warp. The ground levels were dull, long, and tedious. The on the wing parts were worse than the dessert mission from SF64, stupid, and just plain annoying. And, they robbed PEPPY OF HIS NOBLE SACRIFICE! FUCK THAT WAS STUPID SHIT.

Nothing to threaten you?
Are you playing on Bronze level?????
Although the Arwing wasn't as mobile, the first level with the massive space battle completely blew me away.
And yeah, about Peppy, HOW COULD THEY DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HE HAD SUCH AN AWSOME "DEATH"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
