Problems Playing Back a File

i recently downloaded a movie file with what seems to be an odd encoding. though the video plays just fine, i don't get any sound on it whatsoever. the file info says AC3 5Ch AG. i'd assume that means 5 channel surround sound, but the other parts i'm somewhat clueless on. Are there any special codecs or players i'd need to play this type of file? i've got a handful of players already, including WMP 10, real media gold, the player that comes with the ATI card, zoom player, and VLC player. but if someone knows what i'd need to do to get it to play it'd be greatly appreciated.
