I usually use FireFox on my PCs, but I messed it up the other day trying to install a Moox build that screwed up FireFox completely and now the installer crashes so I've been using Mozilla.

Mozilla 1.6 (Smoke theme).

I suppose I should probably update it, shouldn't I, since I just found out that they're up to version 1.7.5?

Soon to be 1.8- I'd just wait.

I thought you hated Mozilla browsers and preferred Opera due to them being Netscapish?

Too late, I already just updated to 1.7. :P

I switched sometime over a year ago, pretty much on a whim. Before that I used IE. My problems with Mozilla being too much like Netscape disappeared ever since I started using the Smoke theme.

I've never used Opera in my life. Don't even know what it looks like.

Personally, I don't like the banner ads and the UI clutter, but it's pretty fast compared to Firefox on a PIII-550. Still, Firefox has better compatibility and extendability.

Heh, I'm lazy... my idea of backward compatibility is that if you can easily get to the content, it's good enough, therefore I don't even bother doing scripting to support NS4.x, and make heavy use of CSS layouts and XHTML 1.0.

Obviously not acceptable for a business site, but meh, I'm not a serious developer in the first place.

Well having IE versions older than 5 doesn't make much sense anyway :P

Firefox here. When something textbased is required I use elinks. I also have Konqueror on here but usually only use that for file managment (yeah, I'm a KDE guy. I deteste gnome. The two bars are retarded and I found it too frustrating trying to get everything to work right on one of them only so I gave up and never looked back. I do use alot of gnome apps like Gaim, GIMP and Grip though).

And I detest KDE... too bloated, and the stupid defaults are too cluttered. I find that I can live without KDE apps, but the reverse is not true (There is no KDE GIMP equivalent). And it's not that hard to set it up for 1 bar (though I keep two, and use up almost all the space on both of them. For file management I use the console, except when handling stuff from removable media or for performing actions on groups of random files as opposed to patterns. I detest KHTML's compatibility or lack thereof.

As for extensions, I have:
DOM Inspector
EditCSS - *Very* Useful
LiveHTTP
ColorZilla
Javascript Debugger (Venkman)

Tabbed browsing extension is too buggy.

Has any windows user tried K-Meleon < http://kmeleon.sf.net >? Based on Mozilla but a lot more lightweight since there's no XUL (lacks extendability of FF though).
