Is there any way to get a new Starcraft CD key...

...short of buying a new game? I went to reinstall Starcraft for the first time in ages, only to find that it is no longer in the original case, and I no longer have the original case. I figure the answer is "no", but I wanted to check...

Perhaps emailing technical support and asking them what can be done?

Or if you favour the illegal route, google StarCraft CD keys. But don't do that, because it's wrong. Also I think Blizzard likes to crackdown on the people who do that shit.

If you wish to play online, probably not. However if you aren't interrested in online gaming getting a new one is easy. With Starcrfaft, I'm quessing you intend to play online, meaning you are out of luck.

They're not going to simply give you a new one if you call them, because when you buy the game the cdkey is essentially all you're paying for. Probably easiest to spend $5 and get the game again.

All Blizzard games have one, otherwise how could you connect to Battle.Net?

Except for Brood War.

The CD-Key is missing or unreadable

To verify ownership, you will need to mail in your CD case. If you do not have your CD case, then you will need to mail in your manual in place of the case.

Mailing Information:

* We suggest you use some form of tracking to make sure your mail gets to Blizzard Entertainment. If we do not receive your package we can not send the replacement.
* For all exchange situations a note is required that explains what happened, what is needed, your full name, your phone number, and a return address.
* A $10 US dollar money order is required for each CD-Key to cover processing costs; no personal check or cash will be accepted. If it has been less than 90 days since you have purchased the game and you include a copy of the sales receipt showing the purchase date within 90 days, the $10 fee will be waived.
* Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing and return shipping.

* Please send all necessary materials to the following address:

Unless(doubtably) Hemlock bought it within 90 days, the cost of getting a new CD-key is the same as buying a completely new game, only he can do it in a day.

$10? You could probably just go out and look for a copy cheaper.

Yeah, but then I'd have to fly back to the States.

Eh, I'll just wait 'till I get back, then...
