Oh, already posted? Damn...
Well, I just think this deserves to have its own thread, at least.

So let's start speculating.

Is that place with the ghosts actually the well in Kakariko village? There's a great resemblance between the two, and it would certainly be a fitting place for ghosts to be in...

Interesting theory.

Somebody else on another board noticed the wolf howling and wondered if Link could change into animal forms (sorta like the mask system in Majora's Mask), though I doubt it.

I found it interesting that we saw the Hyrule castle in one scene. Must be a new one.

BTW, it was stated by Nintendo that this is in fact a Wind Waker 2, and this is the new Hyrule and thats the Wind Waker Link.

You have to be a fucking IGN Insider to view a video? Screw that.

Actually that means chronologically-wise, it follows after TWW, not automatically that it's a direct sequel to TWW.

Only the Quicktime files. The WMV version is free.

Wow, that's possibly the most unsupported bullshit speculation that I've ever heard. Just because a wolf is seen howling in the trailer means that Link can transform into one? What garbage...

I actually heard some speculation about that before the trailer was released. Months ago, in fact. Aonuma had supposedly implied something like that in an interview, but I don't know what the sources were and I can't seem to find where I read it. Though if that was so, then why didn't they show more of it in the trailer? Unless they want to save a few surprises for E3, of course...

There's a better version at nintendo.com
Better resolution than the WMV-version anyway...

From some analysis of the trailer that I've seen, while many of the attentions to detail are quite stunning, quite a few textures, settings, and backgrounds seem a bit bland and occasionally lifeless.

Nice to see that the Gorons seem to have lost the wax lip look that they strangely all had in Majora's Mask.

I agree fully, though I wonder if the wolf has SOME significance.
Perhaps it is part of a puzzle in some point in the game.

It could be part of the intro to the game, or some other cutscene. Perhaps it's a boss? The werewolf boss in Castlevania: Dracula X (both versions, I think) howls a little like that with the moon in the background, right before jumping up and starting to fight you... That would be cool...

Something that's definately a part of a puzzle is that gas in that place with the ghosts. Also that thing that's used to see the ghosts and the gas is likely to be something like the Lens of Truth, but there's distortion while it's used. Seemingly electronic distortion. Maybe it's something like the ecto-goggles from Ghostbusters (okay that was a little far fetched).

What's up with those cats, though? There were dogs/puppies in earlier screenshots.

Holy crap!

Accodring to EGM, a $10 preorder of Zelda gets you a copy of Wind Waker with two extra dungeons.

And did I mention that the whole thing is redone in the style of the new Zelda?

Waitasecond... This is the April issue, so hold off on actually believing it yet...

when I get home next week I'm double checking with Gamestop and EBGames, I know Gamestop was taking preorders for the new Zelda, no idea if there's any lil bonuses. They might say something then.

But yeah...I'm pre-ordering this one. It is nessacry for my continued gaming enjoyment.

Nope, somebody wrote this to IGN, they disproved it.

It's either a mistake or a joke.

I figured as much. Right after I posted it, I started thinking about it, and realized that it had a bit of the too-good-to-be-true lingering about it. So I checked the month of the issue.

Of course, that makes it thier best April Fools joke since Sheng Long in SF2.

According to Reggie at the GDC, a preorder would get you a "premium edition". The question is what that really is. Could be a golden disc, like with OoT or something else like tWW. Maybe it's a remake of OoT with GameCube graphics *fap fap fap*

Don't expect anything with changed graphics at all.

Rereleasing a game is a fairly small affair, even repackaging it with new dungeon orders like with Master Quest. Redoing graphics means creating all new assets for everthing in the game, it's an absolutely huge undertaking, even for an N64 game.

I heard rumours once though that there were some dungeons cut from Wind Waker, so a restored version might not be too much to do.

Yeah, I know, hence the fapping sounds  ... But if they made high-res versions (as in high polygon count) of all models during development, as some developers like to do, it might not be that much work to do. If they didn't throw those versions away after the game was completed that is. Of course, they'd have to rewrite the engine to use the GC's hardware better (I think the current GC-versions of OoT and MM were just emulated), and that could be a real pain...

Perhaps they may have spiffied up the sword attacks and main character models (though I doubt it), but I suspect most of the game will be the same. Extra dungeons would be cool though.

Very interesting, they analyze the trailer almost frame by frame.

I don't get why 12 is so special, since Wind Waker was the same, but the rest are good points.

This picture was especially revealing:

That does look fairly important.

It could be a Water temple style water level deal.

Maybe it's even tidal, they're clearly taken at different times in the game day.
