My computer has officially decided it wants me to be miserable by refusing to open programs like Opera. Plus it screws up at random intervals. As revenge for this insubordination, I seek to wipe the hard drive. But that first requires me to save some key files.

Does anyone know any good CD burning programs I can use with Win98?

nero might be able to run in 98, though i'd strongly recommend upgrading the OS. at the very least to 98SE.

I don't have the resources for an upgrade any time soon.

WinOnCD and EasyCD Creator both work reasonably well, are old enough that they ought to work on '98, and should be available in reasonably priced not-quite current but entirely workable versions (say 5 and up). NERO should work with '98 depending on version but no promises. If you're looking for free/shareware stuff, sorry. No clue.

Our old 98 machine uses Roxio Easy CD Creator.
