Do you use the little scroll arrows in your OS anymore?

I was just thinking about this. With the advent of scroll wheels and live scrolling via dragging, who really uses those little scroll arrows on the scrollbars of window anymore? I can't remember the last time I just sat there clicking on one of those arrows to scroll through something. The only time I ever touch the things is if I'm forced to use some POS app that doesn't have support for the scroll wheel.

Infrequently. Dunno', never get used to those scrolling wheels. I always found them way too responsive.

EDIT: actually I'd rather click and drag that one sidebar instead of furiously clicking on those little arrows.

Theres little arrows? <sarcasm>

When i was in a Tech School i happened to have the one mouse that didnt have a Mouse Wheel so i used the bars.... not the arrows though so i guess that close enough.

But i rarley use them unless im trying to fit something into my screen to an exact fit.

About the only time I've used them in recent memeory was when I took my GREs. The computer that I was made to use for it disabled nearly everything, including the scrollwheels and draggable scrollbars, and was permanently locked into 640x480x16@60Hz. Navigating was more of a pain than the test itself.

Never.

I use the scroll wheel, and if I don't have one, either use the keyboard up and down keys or just grab the blue bar and move it manually.

heeey... I'd forgotten you could use the arrow keys for that!

now I can be less dependent on my crappy mouse!

I think I may have done once upon a time, like with a really small form, or on a really large one, and the mover bar moves too far, and my mousewheel was out of comission at the time.

I switch back and forth at random. Even when reading this thread, I probably swapped about three-four times.

I have an app or two that doesn't recognize the scroll wheel.

Sometimes you have to use the horizontal scroll bar.

Also, sometimes I want to scroll back but not lose my current position in a text file, so I drag the scroll bar up (or down) and when I'm done, I just drag it to the left until it bounces back to the previous position.

It's what the Page Up / Page Down keys are for, as well as the arrow keys.

as i'm on a laptop with a touchpad, the scroll bar is a necessity for me. plus it sometimes find it gives me more control than using a mouse wheel.

I use them all. All options. Sometimes I feel like pressing a key, others I feel like clicking, others I feel like dragging over text to make the screen scroll, mostly I use the scroll wheel. If there were several different hotkeys I'd probably use them all too.

I drag the box in between the arrows in the scroll bar when I want to scroll down something fast, but otherwise, I either use that wheel thingy on the mouse, or on some occasions, the arrow keys. However, I almost never click on the arrows themselves.

Never. Scroll wheel for life.

If scroll wheels don't work, then arrow keys. If they don't work, then I roll my eyes in disgust.

I find PgUp and PgDn more effective. :D But heck, I can't even remember the last time I used those arrows or that bar....

Rarely. Usualy the scroll wheel is faster and if I need more speed then there is the scroll bar.

Same here. I haven't used those arrow buttons ever since I ditched win95 for 98.
