OS question
I have an old comp I'm giving to my nephew, and it has Win 95 on it. I was planning on putting my Win 98 on the computer instead. Here's the question. I only have a full install disc for 98. If I use that to install the OS, will I lose any of the files I have? Like say game saves and other things like that?

The full version CD can perform an in-place upgrade, but it's not really reccommended, it will leave all sorts of gunk all over the place.
One possible option will be to back up all the save files to a safe folder, deltree Windows and Program Files, and then install the new OS as a fresh install. You'll have to install your apps again, because you'll have nuked the registry, but the contents of the rest of the drive will be safe.
Alternatively, just back up data files to external media and format, this would be the optimal solution as far as the performance of the OS is concerned.
