Essentially, any time I try to open a new IM window, it decides to crash on me.

Which is, obviously, a very big problem.

And, being the genius that I am, I deleted away my older install of AIM, which worked quite well.

So, two possible remedies:

1) Someone know how to fix this? or
2) Anyone got an older version of AIM Installer I can use?

yeah, I got a older version of the installer you can use

I would say look me up on AIM so I can send it to ya...but ya know...

any other msg'ing service you use where I can send you a copy? It'd be easier than putting it in a email attachment

is using an alternate client that supports AIM (such as trillian or gaim), not an option?

Well, GAIM works. Any way to make it a little thingy in my taskbar doohickey, or do I have to have the tab in my bar thing for the buddy list?

Wow. People still use AIM?

Dunno GAIM, sadly, but I've been happy with Trillian for years now.

I think is one of the plugins that comes with GAIM, you just have to turn it on.

Believe me, it's there: go to preferences->plugins, look for it and click on the check box.

I use it, but I run a definitely out of date version, as I refuse to update.
