Apparently this has been creating a buzz in some gaming forums.

It's proven fake.
It was proven fake with this picture of that object (i think it was a CD player?):

Don't believe anything about the next generation consoles that isn't official (and even then I don't believe a word Sony says about the PS3's peformance after their overhype of the PS2)

It's supposed to be a dev kit/prototype. The XBox's dev kits were beige boxes...

Actually, it is a real picture. Non-editted at all.
They just put that device there (which is not a Revolution-anything, I believe it was a CD player or grill or something IIRC), and put that picture on their computer monitor, and snapped it.

doesn't excuse the fact that the photography is absolutely horrid. you can't even really tell what the item is.

Not the box, what's on screen. That in no way looks like something for a real commercial product, prototype or otherwise.

That's kinda the point. You want people to not be able to tell it's a fake when they look at it
